To stop the "sock monster" from eating one of every pair of socks I have, I sort ALL of our socks/underwear into one load on laundry day(s). Regardless of color, person or size they are all in that load so when I go to fold them they are all there. I've been doing it for 3 years and haven't lost even 1 sock since.
