I couldn't take it anymore!

After posting about that delicious, mouthwatering, makes-you-want-to-lick-your-screen pretzel recipe this morning, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and had to make them.

Yes, this lazy mom, actually made something with more than five ingredients

GASP!!

Shocking.  I know.

But as usual... I have proof!

I didn't have cheddar cheese on hand (which kind of bummed me out because I'm a cheddar kind of fan).  So instead I used Mozzerella.

I got them all lined up and egg washed (after studying online how to make a pretzel shape.... geez!  Who knew it would be that difficult to figure out!!!)

Out of the oven, they looked and smelled heavenly!

And they were nice and soft and yummy!

Although I think I went a little crazy with the salt.  I'm a salty kind of person (wink, wink) but it was a bit too salty for even me.

And I couldn't really taste the cheese.  Dad-gum-it!  I guess I needed cheddar after all!  Or else, it was overshadowed by my salt craziness.

As for dipping sauce, I tried several different dips before I landed on one I liked.

First I did the traditional mustard.

Blah. Not for me.

Then I tried ranch.  Not sure why, but I did, okay?

It was so-so.

Then, I had a stroke of genius!  Why not dig out of the refrigerator that left over dipping sauce from the last time we had pizza?!  So out came a small tub of garlic butter sauce!

Ooooooh, Yeaaaaaaah.

Worked out perfect for us.  The pretzel and me that is.  I think we were both very happy with my final choice.

So the verdict???

They were SUPER easy to make.  (So easy a lazy mom could do it!)

They were a fun after school snack!  (Kids loved them!)

And I would definitely make these again!  (Even though they had more than 5 ingredients!)

  1. So glad that you liked them and that they passed the lazy mom test! Definitely use cheddar next time and I bet you'll see a difference. In fact, use extra cheddar because you can never have enough.
