Lazy Mom Tip #26

I can't believe I haven't shared this absolutely, positively, smartest-thing-in-the-world-EVER tip before now!

Gosh.  I hope it's good, because I sure just made it sound good, didn't I?

But never fear!  It is good!

So what's the tip?

Well, you know how us women have many major transitional events over the course of our lives?  For instance...

  • Our Wedding
  • A New Baby (many times over)
  • Moving to a new house (or state or country for that matter!)
  • Selling a house
  • etc, etc....
When I had my second baby I started doing this fabulous tip that I'm about to tell you about.  It's a tip that will help  make the transitions in your life WAAAAY easier and less chaotic.

Okay.

Maybe not less chaotic, but we do try to deliver here at lazy mom.

However, this tip will definitely make your life way easier during these major transitional times in life.

So what is it????

Only this....

And this....

Oh and these....

Yes.

Paper plates, throw-away bowls and plastic cutlery is what this tip is all about.

Oh, and let's not be slobs, so pick you up some of these as well....

Now I realize that now-a-days many of us are enviromentally conscience.  So please note that I'm not saying to use these EVERY day.  I'm saying to use these things when you are going through a major transition in your life as listed above (or whatever else you deem major), mkay?

Like I said, I started doing this when I had baby #2.  I had just had my second c-section, I had a toddler on my heels and no family any where near me to help.  Life was in major transition for me.

The idea of trying to keep up with dishes to boot just about ran me over the edge.  So I declared a transitional fast from real dishes and bought me a two week respite of throw-away dishes instead!

I also do this when we move.  (In the first 6 years of our marriage, we moved 5 times!)  Let's face it, doing dishes while trying to pack up a house just isn't the way God intended for things to be.  I'm pretty sure He stated it in the book of Genesis right after he made Eve.  (Just don't go looking for it.  Take my word for it instead).

So.  There you have it.  Lazy Mom Tip #26 -- Use throw away dishes during the major transitions in life.

It's brilliant.  I know.

You can all thank me for it the next time you are in a major transition.

  1. I 100% agree. I used paper goods when I had my babies- - -or even if there was just a major event going on (maybe a family member visiting, etc to cut down on kitchen cleaning)- so thank you for the reminder!!!
