Lazy Mom Tip #32

Alright lazy moms... boy have I got a GREAT tip for you all today!  This one may just ROCK. YOUR. EVER. LOVING. WORLD.

I was all set to post this tip and then out of no where my BFF (and fellow Lazy Mom) emailed me the very same tip to share with you all!  See how BFF we are?!

So here's the fabulouso tip in the words of my BFF!  I totally know you're going to love it!!!

Since my 2 girls are close in age, it can be hard to remember whose clothes are whose... so I use a dot system. On the inside of each shirt, shorts, undies, etc... I put one dot (with a black sharpie pen) near the label for Annabelle. When she outgrows the garment and it's time to pass it on to Ava Raye, I add one dot next to it. So, two dots for Ava Raye. I suppose it won't be hard to figure out Turner's clothes, but I guess if we end up with another girl... she'd get three dots.
I also use this dot system for my boys.  They are close in age and very close in size, so it helps me remember who's wearing it!  Especially for their school uniform shirts.  Here's my oldest's school shirt with one dot.

When he outgrows it, I put another dot on it to let me know it's now my second childs shirt!

One mom I know that has 6 kids uses this system because there were so many clothes to keep up with!  When she saw 4 dots, she knew it belonged to child #4.

So how great is this tip?!  Come on... give me some love!  :)

  1. I do this, too!

Though, I've been a little slack lately. I need to get on it b/c my oldest two's clothes are so hard to tell apart now.

  3. I do this too, although my reasoning is a little different. I started doing this so that my KIDS could tell whose clothes were whose. That way, it was easy for them to help with putting away the laundry. Works for my husband too. :)

  8. Now there ya go! I have two girls near the same size...it gets confusing whose is whose. I buy them certain brands. For my niece, I buy fruit of the loom underwear and for my daughter, I buy Hanes. That's the only way to know what belongs to who!

  10. I haven't had to label cloths for about 15 years now, but i never thought of using a pen to dot them! How ingenious is that!
I used to use needle and black thread to put little stitches on mine.

  12. It's a terrific idea but I'm so lazy, I can't find the will to even put the dots in! Now what?

  13. This is a great idea. We have three boys and the second is quickly catching up with his big brother in size. I'm the only one who can tell which shirt belongs to which boy. This is such a helpful idea! :)

  14. I bought socks with Pink toes so i would know which ones were mine, and my boyfriend was still wearing them and stretching them out just because if they were in the laundry they were probably his, so this wouldn't work for us :(
