Oh dear.
I need some major cleaning advice.
I've said it before and I'll say to the day I die... I hate cleaning! Do you hear me?! HATE. IT.
So I need some serious cleaning advice for my bathroom. Namely the shower/tub. Let me tell you what I'm looking for and then surely one of you amazing people out there will know exactly what I need, right?
A girl can hope.
So here's my dilemma. I'll walk you through it so you don't get lost....
People take showers. Shower gets gross. Stacey hates to clean, so she ignores it. Until it's so bad she has to do something about it. Stacey then has no idea what to use to clean her shower. Because Stacey hates to clean and doesn't want to have to SCRUB. Scrubbing is a bad word in Stacey's house. Don't ever tell Stacey to scrub something, mkay?
So Stacey wants to find something that she can spray on to the shower walls (but not the every day type ones, please! Remember, Stacey's lazy) that will magically clean the shower WITHOUT, and I repeat WITHOUT having to scrub it! She wants to simply spray the cleaner on and walk away and come back a few minutes later and it be clean again. Including the grout. Is that possible?
A girl can hope.
There. Does that explain my dilemma to you well enough? I sure hope so because now I need your amazing shower cleaning advice and ASAP. My shower is almost too scary to step foot into.
Well, okay, it's not that bad, but this could be me if I don't hear from you quick!
Please leave me a comment by clicking on the comments link below here. It's pertinent that you do so. Immediately.
Thank you.
Over and out.

After you get it clean, get some spray-on car wax and give the shower walls a good spray. It will repel the water and dirt and stains for a while...until you think to do it again. Be careful not to wax the tub floor. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with ya! I hate cleaning the bathroom. I would like to know what you can just spray on there and walk away.
ReplyDeleteI use Scrubbing Bubbles (the cheapest version) and spray it on, eat some cookies, then rinse it off. It doesn't do magical scrubbing, but it gives me an extra 2 weeks before I have to scrub again...
ReplyDeleteyeah, i hate it too. we bought one of those push button spray cleaners for our shower when we moved in here. now it is serves as a shampoo holder because it never worked. honestly, the best way really is some soft scrub and a good scrubby spongy thing. not good news and I don't do it often but it seems to clean it right.
ReplyDeletejust keep thinking... week of camp coming soon... no cooking or cleaning for one week. :)
I typically spray with a disinfectant cleaner, then I sprinkle baking soda and let it sit. Then, I "scrub" (sorry, I know you hate that word!), and rinse w/ water.
ReplyDeleteRead the above but instead of Stacy put in Shari! I went into the cleaning aisle. Looked for something that said Cleans tough grime with no scrubbing! I picked it up and took it home. It worked. I can't remember what it is called, but since it is probably different in the States anyways, I am too lazy to walk upstairs and figure it out.....I would say just go to the cleaning aisle and look for your magic words.
ReplyDeleteThis does involve some wiping but not full-on need to break out the Ben-Gay scrubbing. Magic eraser. It truly is magical. My downstairs bath is nearly fully tiled and it works wonders and you really don't jave to do it very often if you use the scrubbing bubbles soak as a maintenance tool. Hope that helps :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you can also make your rubber flip-flops brand new with a magic eraser!
ReplyDeleteTry some of "The Works Tub & Tile Cleaner". Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteChris
I used to forget accidentally on purpose to clean the shower. I would then use window cleaner to clean it down. It really works. No scrubbing either!. Because after all what is a shower door? Glass!
ReplyDeleteNow I use a shower cleaner that gets sprayed on after each shower...or daily while the shower is still wet. It rinses off at the time of the next shower. I never need to clean it now.
What I want to know, is if the Scrubbing Bubble thing works...I saw an ad for it the other day, where you just push the button, and it does the work for you. Sounds to good to be true, but wouldn't it be nice??
ReplyDeleteYou could leave a kitchen sponge in the bathtub and just every other day squirt some shampoo in it and scrub the walls as you shower. Easy when you're already wet.
ReplyDeleteI am also lazy and we have hard water, so the entire tub gets pink! I use a bit of CLR and then rinse. Gets rid of it all!
ReplyDeleteUse Oven cleaner. (Open a window) Let sit for a few & rinse, scrub if needed!
ReplyDelete~Lisa
Ha ha this is so freakin' funny! And you might be my sister from another mom, cause i hate scrubbing too.. scrubbing?!?! what is that?!?! at least call it "fairy-sparkly-pink-dust-absorbing" or smth and then we can at least mention it:P
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with finding the miracle;) Gimme a slap when you found it! I promise I'll follow you blindly on that one:)
Happy Wednesday!
Lisa, again....Yes, I use oven cleaner to clean my shower (stall). I keep a can in my bathroom just for that. Just spray in on, let it sit for 10-15 mins then rinse it off or use magic eraser if needed.
ReplyDeleteI saw the idea on thriftyfun.com.
That Scrubbing Bubbles thing does NOT work! Don't waste your money! Unfortunately I don't have any magic tricks that DO work :( but i will be trying some of you guys' ideas!
