Believe me, I am painfully aware how lacking this lazy, lazy site is of baby/toddler tips.
This is due to the fact that my youngest child is five (soon to be six) and I am no longer in the throws of preschoolness (yes I just made up that word). And this is also due to the fact that since I have mush for brains because I had three kids so close together, I cannot remember any fantabulous tips from those days gone by.
I've been really hoping to remedy this horrible lack we have, but alas, all my lazy mom friends who have baby/toddlers well, have baby/toddlers and have no time whatsoever to write wonderful tips down for this lazy place on the web that we affectionately call, I'm a Lazy Mom....
I have sent out several pleas on our facebook page, as well as tweeted on our Twitter page about needing all of you wonderful lazy mom's best and brightest tips for baby's and toddlers.
(by the way, we do have this great toddler tip, in case you missed it)
I have gotten two sweet lazy moms respond to my desperate pleas for tips and I'm happy to share their tips with you below in hopes that maybe it will get your wheels turning and you'll realize YOU have a great baby/toddler tip to share as well! So here is the first lazy mom baby/toddler tip sent in by Katie...
I have three kids under 5. I never know when someone is going to need a wardrobe change while we are out and about. Most often, we have potty accidents, but every now and then we have the occasional run in with a sprinkler or mud puddle. Or... The other day, my three year old fell in the toilet (yikes).I love the idea of keeping the change of clothes in a plastic bag! It keeps it from "infecting" other things in your mom purse and it's easy to dump in the washing machine! Thanks Katie!
Anyway...I have a big momma purse/ tote bag that goes with me. Each child has a zip- lock bag with extra clothes. This way, when an accident happens, we just pull out the clean clothes and zip away the dirty. When we get home, I can just dump it right into the washer without worrying that there could be nastiness in my bag or car...
It works for me as long as I remember to re- stock the bags after said accidents.
The other lazy mom baby/toddler tip we received is similar, but comes all the way from Australia, so I just had to share it with you! Here's what Vivianne had to say...
Always keep your nappy/diaper bag stocked and ready to go - I had spare nappies/diapers, talc, creams, wipes, spare clothes and anything else I needed for a day out all kept in the bag - I would check the bag when I got home after a day out and replace anything that was out and make sure everything was always in there.Thanks Vivianne! A little pre-planning and organization can help you be a lazy mom later!
With the bag always stocked up it was easy to just grab the baby and the bag and get out of the house if you just felt like a shopping trip or someone invited you out for the day. I knew of some mums that never went out with their baby as there was too much for them to organise before they left the house!
I was able to go out any time I felt like it and once I had the 2 boys (baby and toddler) I just put in a few extras for the bigger one and we were still set to go.
