Yes, it's true.
After YEARS of my husband driving old, beat up, itty-bitty cars that he has to fold himself into, he has finally gotten into a car that is going to last him longer than a year!
Yup.
Yesterday The Lazy Dad got a 2010 Ford Focus.
And even though it's a used car, it's still VERY exciting for a couple of reasons which I will happily list out for you here.
Your welcome.
- The car only has 13,000 miles on it making it the lowest mileage car we have EVER owned.
- We are still living in the same year this car debuted in! (It is still 2010, is it not?)
- We have NEVER owned a car in the same year it debuted in! (I just wanted to drive that point home to you all)
- It's cherry red and oh so cute.
- It matches our red Ford Expedition very nicely.
- It also matches our church colors (you know, on our logo - very important as Lazy Dad is a Pastor).
- Just kidding about that being important (see number 6).
- This makes the fourth person that works at our church to own a red car. (not sure why this is exciting, but we will look cute all lined up in a row in the parking lot)
- We got a STEAL on this car! Seriously, it may be the best deal ever.
- Lazy Dad no longer looks like Mr. Incredible crammed into a teeny-tiny car (did I mention he's 6'5"?)
- My kids are already asking if they can have it for when they start driving. In like 8 years.
- Oh my gosh. My oldest kid starts driving in 8 years!
- Somebody start praying NOW. We have 8 years of prayers to build up till my first kid starts driving.
- But SCORE that we can pass this car down in 8 years, am I right?
I haven't even told you the BESTEST reason yet for why Lazy Dad's new car is so exciting...
15. Because he's upgrading from this:
Yes, he's upgrading from our 1988 Ford Crown Victoria.
NOW do you see why this is such an exciting thing?!?!?!?!
I thought so.
Oh, and the other exciting news I have for you is that one of you lucky lazy moms (or lazy dads) could be the proud new owner of our 1988 Crown Vic, because SHE'S OFFICIALLY FOR SALE!
AHHHHHHHH!
Now don't all pound down my email box trying to get to her first. I know she's a hot commodity and you're all dying to have her. I can't blame you. We've grown very attached to her and she is only 3 years away from being considered a classic, so it's hard to let her go.
Seriously. It kind of is.
But if anyone you know out there really does want her, drop me an email. She might just could be sitting in front of your house like that.
But anyway, I'd also like to point out another exciting factoid. This lazy family is currently the owners of three, count 'em three Fords.
Geez, call me already Ford! Let's work out a deal. I'd make a great spokesmodel for you. I haven't got all day for you to catch on to this. Hello?!
No seriously, Ford, I'll make time for you. Just call me. Or text. Let's do lunch and work up a promo.
Okay, show of hands. Who thinks Ford should totally work with The Lazy Mom?
[a bazillion hands shooting up]
See Ford? This could work.
It could be the beginning of a beautiful lazy friendship.
(call me!)
