Lazy Mom Tip #38

Ooo!  Ooo!

While writing Lazy Mom Tip #37 I also remembered another GREAT baby/toddler tip!!!

Whoo-hooo!  I'm on a roll!

So here's the tip...

Do you have a baby or toddler that is notorious for kicking their blankets off of them at night and they inevitably freeze to death (or you at least are worried they will?) because of it?

Never fear!  This lazy mom tip will keep your little darling nice and snug!

Instead of dressing your baby in ONE sleeper, put them in two!  A friend of mine used to do this in the winter time because their upstairs was way colder than their downstairs at night and she worried her girls would get too cold and wake up, and well, you all know what happens when a child wakes up at night... lazy mom gets NO sleep.

And we just can't have that around I'm a Lazy Mom.  Uh-uh, that just will not do.

So to keep her girls nice and warm in their beds (and her nice and warm in hers) she would double their sleepers at night.  Isn't that brilliant?!

You could even put on a cotton sleeper and then put on a fuzzy fleece sleeper on top of it!  (you may have to go up a size on the second layer).

Soooo... who loves me now?!  Huh?  huh?  Isn't that a good baby/toddler tip?!?!

Thank you.

And stay tuned for more great baby/toddler tips that some of you great lazy moms out there have sent in!

  1. I would often dress the babies in a blanket sleeper (no legs) on top of whatever other pjs I'd put on them... my kids NEVER kept their blankets on!

  2. That is an awesome tip, especially for toddlers. My daughter is four and is still kicking off her blankets and complaining that she is cold. A good tip for babies are Snug & Tug swaddle blankets from Go Mama Go Designs. They are great for the lazy mom because they are easy to put on, the easiest I have discovered yet. Many of us lazy moms don't like getting up in the middle of the night for feedings, these you just velcro so you don't have to actually know how to swaddle. They are also great for the lazy mom because that are a great fabric that is good for warm or cold weather and help your infants sleep through the night sooner due to the benefit of swaddling. Also, they don't have to be washed every time you use them, I only have three of them that last for while. Hope this helps too!

  3. My toddler does that and I start double layering as soon as the weather turns colder. Sometimes she wakes up hot, but at least she isn't cold. The last couple of nights I put 2 warm fuzzy pj's on her.

  4. another tip is if the pjs don't have feet.... put the pj's on backwards so the zipper/opening is behind the child...it looks funny but they can't get out of the clothes....
