A Whole Week

I just said goodbye to my kids for a whole week.

Everybody just take a moment and let that sink in will you?

Now everybody breath in..... and out.....

Then pass around the breath mints if you would.

Anyway, that's what I'm doing a lot of right now.  Breathing in......  because my mommy heart is a little worried.  Worried I won't be there if they need me.  Worried something bad might happen.  Worried I'll miss a great moment.

And breath out......... because God is in control of my kids' lives, not me.  God can protect them way better than I ever can.  God will never leave them nor forsake them.  (Like I just did)  (kidding)  (I think)

But on a bright note... I NOW HAVE NO KIDS FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!!!  Let the part-tay begin already!  I've been waiting for this party for 9 years!  Wooo-hoooo!

I've got big plans in store while the kids are gone.  My to do list is a mile long!  This is the first time ever that the kids have left ME at the house.  It's always been the other way around.  So break out the trash bags, mama's throwing out everything I can get my hands on!

Other top priorities while they're gone are as follows...

  1. Sleep in EVERY day.
  2. Go out to eat with a friend.
  3. Walk around my house in the buff (wait, that's going on the 'maybe to do' list).
  4. Take naps.  Whenever I want.
  5. Buy all the stuff at the grocery store that I really want, but never buy because the kids would eat it all.
  6. Go to a movie all by myself and NOT share my popcorn.
  7. Take a five hour long bath.
  8. Read a book.
Among other things.

So in honor of this most momentous occasion of my kids being gone for a whole week, I'm hosting a giveaway!  Remember when I posted about our handy dandy Fridge-to-go here and here?

Well we brought it along with us on our road trip to hand off the kids.  I packed it full of juice boxes and a juice drink thingy that I really like.  (Thingy IS a technical term in case you wondered)

It did a fantastic job of keeping our drinks ice cold with it's great Surround Cooling feature!

And it's size was very convenient to fit in our packed down car!

So... who'd like to win one?!

**This giveaway is now closed!**

All you have to do to be entered to win is to leave a comment on this post answering the following question...

  8. I'm guessing my husband would steal it for his lunches so it would have sandwiches, fruit, and some kind of snack.

If Elizabeth and I got to use it for our road trip, we would have Coke (for me), juice (for her), applesauce, and string cheese.

  9. I'd put tuna sandwiches, potato salad, and lemonade in there and head to the beach pronto, it's been so hot!
    Best wishes.

  27. I would pack my daughters drink/snacks/lunch in it. I do this almost daily now in a little insulated lunch pack (with separate ice pack) and it's definitely not cutting it in this hot August weather. This would be wonderful to have!

  30. Because I am a faithful Lazy Mom follower, I would have to say my first idea for use would be for Mardi Gras! I'd be able to pack juice, water, and beer for the whole family and enjoy the parades.

There's also my sorority reunion this fall for my alma mater's Centenial. Perfect!

  31. well... if I can keep JEREMY FROM USING IT FOR WORMS! then I will use it for day trips, picnics and anything else we are doing while we are gone most of the time. :)

  33. I would love this for my 13 month old's cheese and milk on the go. I hate trying to keep her cheese from getting rubbery when we go out. She loves it so much and it's something easy to take... as long as it stays good!

  34. I'll pack it with snacks for the pool, and when school starts again, pack it with my lunch because we don't have good fridge access at my school. :(

  40. Drinks of all kinds... At 10,200 feet we are always drinking and constantly hiking!

  41. Here in southeastern NC it's been esp. HOT and HUMID! We've had many days w/ a heat index of 105-110 this summer. SO I'd have to say I'd pack plenty of water so it will keep cold as we're traveling around town to our various events: running errands, soccer practice, drum lessons, choir, church youth group, church, etc.

  42. This is a great idea for when Aw takes 10-12 hour bus trips. It is easy to carry and can be put in his suitcase when he is done.. great product.

  43. I now "Like" your FB page! This cooler looks great! My husband could take his lunch in it!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I posted your link about your blog and giveaway on my FB page! My boys could pack their lunch in this for field trips (since we homeschool - ha!)!

  45. I am now following you on Twitter (had to look up my password b/c it's been so long since I'd been on there!)!

Coool fruit would taste great coming from this cooler, esp. on these HOT summer days!

  46. I tweeted about your blog on my Twitter page!

I can pack my own lunch in this for my own getaway! Forget the husband and boys! ha! Having fun w/ this.

  47. I subscribed a couple weeks ago to get your blog delivered to my email box. It's been fun to read your stuff on a regular basis rather than just when I remember to check it out.

I'm looking fwd to this cooler bag! What a terrific idea! No more ice packs taking up space or ice melting and making your stuff soggy or leaking from the cooler bag. Pretty "cool," literally.

    ReplyDelete
  48. This bag would be ideal for a picnic at the gardens. My two daughters (who will be missing their brothers while they are in school) will need a place to run and play or splash in the water. And everybody knows, a perfect day at the park, should also include a perfect lunch or snack--packed in the perfect bag! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well, last summer I almost cut off my big toe (on accident, of course!) so this little cooler thingy sure would have come in handy to keep my toe cool while we rushed to the hospital! Since I didn't actually cut off my toe, I just called a big tow truck for assistance!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Besides drinks for everyone I would pack vinegar for wasp stings after last week & chocolate of course.
