I don't know about you, but I like me a nice mocha.
And I think the thing I like about a nice mocha is the chocolate part of it. Because even though I can appreciate some coffee, I can appreciate some coffee with chocolate even more.
I think I just heard someone say amen. So I'll keep preaching.
In fact, the only way I truly enjoy a cup of coffee is if it tastes more like chocolate than coffee.
And because I like my coffee to taste more like chocolate than coffee, I like to drink one often. More often than I like having to pay $5 for one somewhere.
So. I thought I'd share with you all a great way to make a Lazy Mom Mocha in your own little lazy home.
Lazy Mom Mocha:
First of all, brew you a cup of coffee. Using whatever method you see fit at your house. Because these days, there's a lot of different ways to do that.
Next, scoop as much hot chocolate into your coffee mug as you dare to, er uh, CARE to, I mean. Or you can just dump in a packet of hot chocolate if you have a packet and stir your little heart out till it's all mixed, mkay?
Then, get out your whipped topping. Whether it's in a spray can or in a tub, and whether it's frozen or not. (Seriously, frozen whipped topping works even better in my opinion because it doesn't melt as fast in your coffee! So don't even bother defrosting it my lazy, lazy people.)
Dollop or spray as much as your heart desires on top of your coffee. And I can say that because you aren't paying $3 for whipped topping at some high priced coffee joint. Knock yourself out people! It's really cheap! They've been lying to us.
After you've dolloped your way to heaven, get out some caramel and/or chocolate ice cream topping (uh, did you think I'd be chintzy with this mocha?) and drizzle it on top of your whipped cream until a little bit dribbles over the side and hits the counter. Oh nevermind, that's just what I do.
Then stand back and stare at your mocha across the room and say, "I thought we'd never be alone," like you always do.
What?
You don't always say that to your mocha? Oh. Well I don't either. Not once have I ever done that. Not ever.
*ahem*
The last step is a cheesy one, but I'll say it anyway, ENJOY your mocha. You deserve it after all that work. Even though it isn't hard work at all. Because I do it and I don't like to work hard. Like, ever. So that proves it's not hard work and therefore you can make this mocha too.
Now, I would be remiss, REMISS I tell you, if I didn't tell you that if you want to make this a Lazy Caramel Mocha, you can simply drizzle the caramel topping into your coffee cup and stir before you dollop the whipped cream on top.
You're welcome.
I would also be remiss if I didn't tell you that for those of you who might prefer a Lazy Mom Latte instead you can check out this post that lazy mom Beth tipped me off on where you can make your own frothy milk without using a machine. Yes, you ready that right. Lazy frothy milk. I'm liking it, I'm liking it.
Also check out how Beth makes a Lazy Mom Latte and how to make an iced coffee version, as well!
Again. You're welcome.
Enjoy my lazy people! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWish it wasn't 9 o'clock in the P.M.! I would be out in the kitchen making one of these right now! YUM!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lana, I want to go make one right now!!! But then I'd be up all night. Plus, I'm already laying in bed, and well... I'm lazy :) I will try this in the AM, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOk I'm in! So wanna have one now but I'll wait for the morning! Thanks for the easy recipe!
ReplyDeleteMegan
This looks delish!
ReplyDeleteThis is so yummy! I've done the hot chocolate in my coffee before but I need to try it with the extras!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the best mocha in the world. Love making it this way!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in on Mingle Monday!
This is...beyond brilliant. Here I was, mourning the lack of mocha in my life this morning (after a weekend of holiday shopping, I'm feeling the $$$ guilt), and I see THIS. All is not lost!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo I kept seeing people tweeting about the peppermint mocha lattes at Starbucks, and I'm WAY too lazy (and too cheap) to go buy one, but they sound SO yummy...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I decided to make my own at home:
2 scoops (more or less as desired) of mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 packet of hot chocolate
add coffee {I prefer The Fine Grind coffee} and stir with a fork or small whisk
If you have whipped topping and/or chocolate sauce, add some on top.
SOOOO yummy.
{Disclaimer: Since I haven't tried the Starbucks version, I can't compare the flavor, but this one is TO.DIE.FOR.}
This is my new fav thing in the AM. I can't beleive I have never done this before. Awesome and delish. PS I use the sugar free swiss miss and cool whip...saves on the calories so it is guilt free and cheap. thank you!!!!!!!
