Any of you who have been 'round these parts for a while now will know that I struggle with getting out baby/toddler tips. Mainly because I don't have baby/toddlers anymore. And mainly because I have mommy brains and don't remember any tips from those baby/toddler days. Although, they do come back to me from time to time.
Never fear you baby/toddler mama's!
Cause I've got two, count 'em TWO, baby/toddler tips coming at'cha today!
Thanks to lazy mom Christine anyway.
Not thanks to me.
I have mommy brains, remember?
And a bad hip.
Which I've been in denial over.
Note: I did NOT say I'm in denial over BEING hip.
Cause I am.
Hip that is, not in denial over being hip.
I'm totally hip, you hear me?
But I'm not sure any of that has anything to do with this post. So check out Christine's awesome tips she sent in before I start telling you other random things I'm in denial over...
I hate, hate, hate clipping my baby's nails. I felt like THE worst mom ever when I made her bleed. By accident, I discovered a way to help me avoid repeating this sadness.
1) Put a little pile of baby powder in the palm of your hand
2) Take one of baby's fingers and make a scratching motion through the baby powder.
3) When looking at baby's finger nail, only clip the powder.
It helps me to see what needs to be clipped and what is too far.
When it comes to immunizations, its traumatic enough for the little one. I have found that trying to take the band-aid off later is almost as bad because the band-aids are practically super glued to my baby's skin. I finally got smarter. Now I ask the doctor or nurse if we can use gauze instead. I hold it in place while I am soothing my baby. By the time she has calmed down, she has also stopped bleeding. That way I don't have to deal with the band-aid mess later.
So am I right, or am I right?! These are great baby/toddler tips for shizzle.
Wait. Did I just say "for shizzle?"
I have no idea where that came from. But I'm pretty sure that's proof that I'm hip.
Thanks Christine for sending in these great tips! Moms everywhere will love them for shizzle.
Oh sorry. Is my hipness showing yet?
