I'm in a hotel room in Wisconsin.
I know this because...
- I was offered a free drink from the pub when I checked into our hotel.
- The current temp is 10 degrees.
- I haven't been able to feel my toes in the last hour.
- I heard someone say, "Dohn't cha know."
- There are signs for cheese everywhere.
- I've already counted 30 stores that look like a log cabin.
- We hardly have cell phone coverage. (Can you hear me now?)
- People look at me like I'm from another planet when this Texas girl speaks.
- There is a bar and a Catholic church on every corner.
- The Lazy Dad keeps spouting out random facts about things as we drive by it. Oh wait. That's everywhere we go, never mind. But believe it or not, he does it more here. Bless his little pea-picking heart.
THAT's how I know I'm in a hotel room in Wisconsin.

ReplyDeleteHey - what do you know, I'm in Wisconsin too! I live here though lol
ReplyDeleteAs I sit here with my toasty, Eddie Bauer slippers on (that were a splurge from my husband to me), I am thinking, "Dang! 10 degrees???" I hope you have fun. Looking forward to more funny tweets/stories.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Wisconsin. It is a strange land here. I have been here 5 years and still feel like an outsider with my California accent (which I still dont think counts as an accent). Where abouts are you?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stay!
ReplyDeleteWe may have cold weather but we have a lot of warm hearts here, Miss Lazy Mom. Welcome to Wisconsin! I have cell phone coverage just fine...hope you enjoy your time here!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!

That post was too funny! Live in WI too, in the Madison area. Yeah, it's cold, it feels even colder with the whole wind chill thing. You gotta drink to make yourself forget why you live in such a cold crazy place, so take advantage of that free drink, "fer sure".
ReplyDeleteI loved this post! Great list!! Hang in there. You're in the heartland of America!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the snow on the Welcome sign! Too Funny! Eat some cheese and enjoy!
ReplyDeletetell his pea-picking heart to get you a heated blankie, er, blanket!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're SO not from around here...it's not a pub...it's a bar or if you're in northern Wisconsin, likely a tavern. Have that drink (and then 4 or 5 more), you'll need it to keep warm.
ReplyDeleteI was there this past August and kept yelling CORN! to my husband every time we drive past a corn field (or something that looked like a corn field). He found this amusing the 1st time, not the next 212 times.
ReplyDeleteI love all the "Brats For Sale Here" signs. And the best grilled cheese sandwhich of my life.
Otehrwise? I'm happy to be back in New Jersey.
