Things you do when there's no 3G network and your cell phone doesn't work for five days...
- Cry a little.
- Finish reading that book you started a month ago.
- Sit and stare at the wall.
- Stand in different positions and places hoping it will make something work.
- Go through withdrawls.
- Cry a lot.
- Remember what it's like to hold a conversation with someone face-to-face.
- Give yourself pep talks during the dark moments... "you can do this, you can do this, you can do this."
- Remind yourself that there's people in the world who don't even have a cell phone and try not to feel sorry for yourself.
- Cry even more.

Awwww! Poor thing! I know I can hardly remember what it was like without a smartphone.
ReplyDeleteFriend of mine went on a trip to the mountains - no reception whatsoever - said it was "freeing". It takes all kinds, I guess.
May I ask where you are that you don't have 3G service? You must be deep in the boonies of Wisconsin! lol
ReplyDeleteExactly the reason I've stuck with a no-internet phone. I don't need another addiction in my life these days! Hope you're back up and running.
ReplyDeleteOut here in the boonies, we would be happy to have 3 F service ;-) Totally feel your pain; I left my computer at home Fri-Sunday, and my cell is NOT a smart phone. Did find an internet cafe, but do you think I could remember all my log in info for Facebook and such?? GEEZE-O-Petey!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you were doing with that. so not fun!
ReplyDeleteOMG I live in the boonies in Northern WI and have 3G service, so you must have really and truly been in the STICKS if you didn't!
ReplyDeleteGlad you survived!
wow, you are deep boonies......
ReplyDeleteBut I know you will make it out alive, maybe not sane for awhile, but you will be OK.
(I just have a dumbphone)
I feel your pain too. I didn't have internet at home until last month, I went months without it. I did do a LOT of baking. And whining.
ReplyDeleteLoved your post - I know I would definately be doing a lot of number 3 and 6. Goodness how far have we come - I remember life before internet . . . I think.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what I would do without my 3G. Today, I was in a store Christmas shopping where I had no service. I nearly had a heart attack that I could not access my internet to check out a product online!
