ReplyDeletehi! Thank for the funny delivery of the winners, but it got me thinking. I don't have GFC on my website, so I don't know the ins and outs of how it works from the site owner perspective. How exactly do you check to see if someone is following? I followed people in GFC by signing into my Twitter account. The email address I left in the comments sections is the one I use for my blog, but its not the one I have my attached to my twitter account (as my twitter doesn't seem to recognize a self hosted email). I use a yahoo email for that. Confused yet? Just wondering if I wasted my time visiting lots of blogs during the hop. I followed but is it verifiable?? Thanks! Casey

Yes, for future reference, could you please clarify how you check whether someone is following on GFC or not? I noticed that my name was coming up differently in GFC and have since fixed it, but it might be helpful to have a little clarification for future giveaways! I hadn't really played with GFC much before these giveaways, and I'd appreciate knowing a bit more about how you check and verify. Thank you so much!

First of all, don't worry! It wasn't any of you who missed out. The person that said they were following me that way left me their name as it appeared in GFC for me to verify with. When I went in to view my list of GFC followers that name was not listed. I even checked under the blogging name in case they made a mistake and I double checked it both ways. I hated disqualifying them, but I just couldn't verify that it was a valid entry. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteFor future reference for giveaways here and on other blogs, I would suggest doing like they did and leaving your name as it appears when you go through the process to follow via GFC.
You'll see your name during that process. So its easy to double check it when you click the follow button and walk through the steps.
It could be that they clicked on follow, but didn't complete the rest of the steps. You know you've done all steps when you click on a page that says done. Then you are successfully "following" that blog.
