ZenSoy {Giveaway}

Today is the last day in December.

This is a very good thing according to my post yesterday because I really need January to get here so I'll stop eating.

And it's also a good thing because I'm posting the third giveaway this week to help you start a healthier new year!

Today's product for a healthier new year is ZenSoy!

I've been a fan of soy milk for quite some time now.  Namely the chocolate variety.

Most people have a cup of coffee in the morning, I have a tall glass of chocolate soy milk. That's just how I roll.

Now, I have to admit that I do have a favorite brand of soy milk already, so I wasn't sure ZenSoy would win me over with their taste. But I was surprisingly wrong!

It tasted great!  Not chalky, no after taste and very similar to the brand I already enjoy.

But the great thing about ZenSoy is that they don't just make half gallon soy milks, they also soy milk on the go!  (aren't they cute?!)
I tried the chocolate one and the cappuccino one.  The chocolate was my fav (but I'm a chocolate soy milk fan as it is, no shocker there) and the cappuccino one was really nice! Especially if you love coffee tasting drinks, then you will definitely like the ZenSoy cappuccino!

ZenSoy doesn't stop there... they also make soy puddings!

I was super skeptical about the puddings, but again, I was wrong. In fact, I was downright impressed with them.  And so were my kids and Lazy Dad.

If you are a soy milk fan or simply have to drink it because of dietary restrictions, then you must try these puddings. They taste just like regular milk pudding, but are better for you!  Because all of ZenSoy's products are organic, no GMO, no pesticides, and are made from U.S. grown soybeans. I'm liking that.  A lot.

And don't fret if you can't find ZenSoy near you... some of their products are available for sale online and will deliver right to your front door! Score!

So, how'd you like to win some to try for yourself?

ZenSoy is giving away a free case of pudding and a t-shirt just for kicks!

Is it January yet?

My company is all gone and I'm sad.

My laundry is sad too.  Now there is no one here to do it.

Oh wait.

I guess I'm still here.

Shoot!

In other news, now that my company is gone I've stopped making my bed. I made it (almost) every day while they were here.  I was pretty proud of myself.

Did you know that the longest I've gone making my bed every single day in a row is 14 days? I counted it once when I was going to be better about making my bed.

*sigh*

I'm a pathetic.

In more other news, I had a nice healthy start to my day today.

And that happened EVEN AFTER I posted this yesterday.

I think I need serious candy intervention. STAT.

I'm looking more and more like the Michelin man and it's scaring me. A lot.

Where O where is January?!  I need it to get here, like, yesterday already.  Because Lord knows I'm gonna eat horrible things up until the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve.

Here's proof...
Butter burger anyone?
Bar-B-Q anyone?
Sweat pants anyone?
Christmas feast anyone?

So yeah, gonna need to get January here pronto or else I'm going to permanently need a wheelbarrow and a fork lift to get me to church on Sunday.

Now excuse me while I go finish of the Pecan Roll Cookies......

What I've been doing

My family rolled into town Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  It's been heartwarming and relaxing and hilarious and just downright fun.

My parents left this morning, but my sister is here until tomorrow.  I'm going to be so sad when she leaves and here's why...

~ Since she's been here I've not touched a single stitch of laundry.  Well, except for that one time I moved some towels over for her.  She's totally taken my laundry pile on as her "mission in life."  I think her goal is to get it totally completed.

Silly girl.

She should know it's NEVER completed.  But I love 'er for it.  I'm giving her a big fat A for effort.  And I'm going to cry like a little girl when she leaves.  In fact I may go into mourning for days and days over this reason alone.

~ We've been listening to old 80's and early 90's songs reminiscing together.  She even downloaded some old New Kids on the Block videos and we've been laughing hysterically over them. *sigh* We just loved them.

Some other music highlights include... Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Milli Vanilli, Coolio, Michael Jackson and loads of others. Fun has been had by all.

All two of us.

~ Even though our snow has been packed down to practically sheets of ice, my sister and her daughter have tried their hardest to make a snow man, snow angels, snow balls and later... they want to attempt sledding.

Let's all remember, their from Texas, so snow on the ground is a novelty.  And it reminds me of when snow was a novelty for me as well.

Yes, I'm going to miss her when she's gone.  Until then we'll listen to more 80's music, I'll watch her do more of my laundry and we'll attempt sledding on snow that's practically shards of glass.  And we'll love every minute of it.

Cool Gear {Giveaway}

Now that Christmas is behind us (can you believe that?!) people are starting to think about the new year ahead of us.  I know this because Lazy Dad preached a slam-bang sermon on it yesterday at church... how to "Start Fresh."

Anyway, in honor of the new year and all the "fresh starts" we'll all be making (especially in the diet department) I thought I do a couple of giveaways this week that might help you make that start, well, fresh.

First up?

I've briefly told you about some Cool Gear items before when I posted about their super cute kids water bottles that I LOVE, remember?

Well now I've gotten to try some of Cool Gear's other products including...

Their 18oz Energy Laser bottle:

The 32oz Glacier bottle:

And the really cool and convenient Cereal On The Go:

The thing I love about Cool Gear's products is that they have freezable parts to them!  So the water bottles have a freezable tube that twists into the lid of their water bottles and keeps your drink colder longer.  LOVE. THAT.

I also really liked the Cereal on the Go container!  My daughter is a HUGE cereal freak.  I repeat... Cereal. Freak.  So the other day when we had to run off to church for a meeting and she hadn't eaten breakfast yet I just poured some cereal into the Cereal on the Go top, pulled out the bottom container that was in the freezer waiting for this type of moment, poured some milk in that and viola'! We hit the road and she still had cereal when we got to church.  Plus, the top of the container holds a spoon that comes with it.  IT. ROCKS.

All of Cool Gear's products would help you have a more healthy new year because they help you stay hydrated and eating healthier because you can pack food from home in their containers!  In fact, they have a whole line of products called their Stay Fit line!  So be sure and and check that out!

(Pssssst! International readers can check out this list of where to buy Cool Gear in their country!)

Now.

Who'd like to win some Cool Gear?!

Cool Gear is giving away a hydration bottle and a Cereal on the Go to one of my readers!

**This giveaway is now closed!**

To win: simply answer the following question in the comments section of this blog post...

How are you going to try to be healthier this new year?

U.S. and Canadian residents can answer that question below and be entered to win!

After you've answered that question in the comments area below you can also do the following things for EXTRA entries, but these are totally optional and not necessary to win.  (Please leave a separate comment for each thing you do or already do. Merry Christmas!

(video)

12.24.2010

The Night Before Christmas...

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

The Lazy Mom was trying to be as quiet as a mouse;

The stockings hung lopsided by the chimney with care,

In hopes that they'd stay up till Christmas was there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of Wii games danced in their heads;

And Lazy Mom with her electric blanket on her lap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's wrap,

When out in the living room arose such a clatter,

She sprang to her feet to see what was the matter.

Away to the living room she flew like a flash,

To see the Christmas tree fall with a crash.

All of a sudden tears sprang to her eyes,

Now her work had just doubled in size!

Among the debris she waded in thick,

With prayers that this would all be quick.

As she labored to get the tree back upright,

She noticed a package not shiny or bright.

Yes, behind the tree a simple package was found,

Wrapped only in plain brown paper all around.

When what to her wondering eyes should appear,

But a message across it that brought her a tear.

"To: You, From: God" the package read,

The Lazy Mom couldn't believe what it said!

"What could possibly be in this gift?

And how did it get here?" The Lazy Mom sniffed.

Carefully she ripped the plain paper a bit,

Then realized her family should see this gift.

"Wake up, wake up!" She called all around,

"You'll never believe what on earth I just found!"

The Lazy Family woke up with a start,

Wondering why with their beds they all must part.

Slowly they appeared in the small living room,

Surprised by the sight of the tree that went boom.

"Look," she said, "Look what I found!"

"See who it's from! It's really profound!"

They all sat down around the present,

With mouths agape from whom it was sent.

Together they opened the gift with great awe,

Not prepared for the present they saw.

Nestled inside with tenderest care,

Was the greatest gift of all and they could only stare.

One by one they got on their knees,

Remembering the real reason for their Christmas trees.

It was truly a beautiful sight to perceive,

The best Christmas present they had ever received.

Then Lazy Dad exclaimed in hushed delight,

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."

Timing is Everything

Have I told you all that I have family coming for Christmas?

Yup, my mom and dad and my sister and niece will be here to ransack some presents, tear into major goodies, bask in the glow of Christmas lights, and generally have a wonderful time doing so.

But do you know what all of THAT means?

I have to clean my house.

And as any good lazy mom will tell you, when someone is coming over, a moment of sheer panic takes place.  It's a moment of, "Oh dear Lord. My house is a disaster and there could be witnesses soon."  A moment of, "We can't let people know we live like this."  A moment of, "I'm denying I ever lived there after it's been condemned."

Now, because they are family it's not as bad of a panic as it would be if they were friends or even strangers.  Does anybody know why that is?  I'm guessing it's because family you can swear to secrecy... friends and strangers?  They have to be taken captive, guarded at gun point and never be seen in public again in order to assure silence.  And that's just not always feasible.

But you see, the problem with cleaning your house only escalates when you have kids.  Because the problem with cleaning when you have kids is the fact that, well, you have kids.  Cleaning with kids suddenly becomes all about one little word: timing.

Yes, you've got to time the cleaning of your house JUST right.  It can't be too early, it can't be too late.

Too early, and thanks to those little darlings of yours, you're house will be back in state-of-emergency status before your company even arrives.  Then you have to clean ALL OVER AGAIN.  This is a lazy mom danger zone.  It's what I like to call, "stupid cleaning."  You clean too early, you're cleaning stupid.

Now on the other hand if you clean too late, you're running around like a wild crazy woman trying to get everything done before your company pulls in the driveway.  This is another lazy mom danger zone. It is what I call, "mean cleaning."  Because heaven knows you'll be irritable, bark orders at people and generally be mean.  You clean to late, you're cleaning mean.

So what's a lazy mom to do?  How does she get this timing right?  Not too early, not too late.  Not too stupid, not too mean.

*sigh*

It's tough being a lazy mom.

Well, you could dust off some of the approaches listed in the Fake Fixes post I mentioned yesterday. But these will only help you cut corners, not necessarily get the timing of cleaning down just right.

No, for me I think the best way to get the timing right is to enlist the "enemy."

Yup, bring the kids over to your side and work together. It's the lazy mom way actually, so you might as well do it.

Now I know what you're all thinking...
"It takes me longer to clean when the kids help."
"My kids complain the whole time and I'd rather not hear it."
"Pfff! I can't even get my kids to help!"

But listen to me here.  Divide and conquer.  Assign and enact.  Enlist and enforce.  Command and... oh never mind.  Just do it.

I give my kids one job at a time and they come back to me when they are finished.
When the whining starts up I give them a break or a "treat" to re-motivate them.
When they hide in their rooms so they won't be noticed as not helping I say something along the lines of, "You better get down here right now before I give you FIVE extra jobs to do and take ALL your presents back from under the tree!"

Or uh, something like that.

*ahem*

No really, when I make it a team effort I'm not cleaning too early or cleaning too late, the "timing" always seems to work out just right. (Wait. This reminds me of some story about three bears and a girl with blonde... oh forget it.)

In fact, my kids are even better about trying to keep it clean longer because they've put some of their own elbow grease into it themselves.

Now, as much as I'd love to stay around and chat more about this, I simply can't. I've got company coming over and some serious cleaning to do.  Geez, pay attention already.

But before I go I thought I'd post a picture for you of what I look like when I'm cleaning.

Yes, that's what I look like right now.  Totally.

A Lazy Walk Down Memory Lane {Week 6}

It's A Lazy Walk Down Memory Lane day!  Link up any old blog post of yours and share a memory with us today!

In honor of all the cleaning you will possibly be doing this week for Christmas I thought I'd share an old post called "Fake Fixes" I wrote back in 2007 that could definitely help lazify that process for you, so be sure and check it out.

Believe me, you'll thank me after you read it.

A Lazy Walk Down Memory Lane is hosted by The Goodwin Family, Dancing Barefoot on Weathered Ground, and little ol' lazy moi!  Link up below and it will show up on each of our blogs!

Christmas Goodies {Lazy Mom Recipes}

So I don't know about you, but when I think of Christmas I think of all the yummy Christmas goodies I love to eat.

I also think about the ten pounds I'll put on eating those yummy Christmas goodies, the pants that won't fit because of it, and the hours of remorse I'll feel, but that's totally beside the point.

Today I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite Christmas goodies that are ALSO Lazy Mom Recipes! (You know you love me.)

Buuuuuut, I was too lazy to actually make these goodies and take pictures and write all kinds of witty stuff about them, so instead I'll be showing you where to find these recipes around the world wide web (we do still call it that right? It suddenly seems so old fashion for some reason).

It's terribly lazy of me to do it this way, but hey! It's four days until Christmas and I've got company coming!  And you haven't seen the state of my house recently!  And I've got some shopping left to do!  And in the words of my daughter's Kindergarten teacher last year... "You get what you get and don't throw a fit!"

So there.

First up?

Beki over at The Rusted Chain posted a while back about Graham Cracker Toffee.  It was a recipe my mom used to make, but everytime I asked my mom for the recipe she didn't remember ever making them.

It's complicated.

So anyway, when I saw Beki's post about it I was thrilled!

Graham Cracker Toffee

Next up?

Sausage Balls.  I love 'em.  And they are another recipe my mom used to make for Christmas.  AND, she actually remembers this one.

Sausage Balls

My next Christmas fav?

Holiday Pretzel Treats.  Uh, YUM. These I adore, truly.  And no, my mom didn't used to make these.  These are a more recent discovery, so she has no recollection of these little goodies and rightly so (this time).

Holiday Pretzel Treats
How about one more?

This one isn't a Lazy Mom Recipe per say (it has more than 5 ingredients) BUT it is so good and so easy to make I'm still calling it one.

Lady Fingers (or Rolled Pecan Cookies)

Lazy Dad's family literally fights (and I mean fights) over these cookies.  I grew up eating them too and they are definitely worth fighting over.  No doubt about it.

I can't eat them with pecans since I'm allergic to them, so I make them with walnuts instead OR you can leave the nuts out completely and they still taste just as good.

You can shape them into fingers, crescents, or balls. Or I guess whatever you feel like shaping them into.

No matter how you shape them, just EAT THEM.  Mmm, mmm.

Lady Fingers

And there you have it.  Four Christmas Goodies that I adore and are LAZY to make.

What's your favorite Christmas goodie? Share it with us in the comments section below!

Lazy Mom Tip #49

Warning: You are about to witness what could possibly be the BESTEST Lazy Mom Tip ever. Because of this you may experience dizziness, crying, an uncontrollable need to hug someone, and possibly even fainting. All from the sheer joy of it. Consider yourself warned.

My lovely lazy moms. What I am about to share with you could possibly change your ever. loving. life.

Get ready to thank me.  In fact, you might as well go ahead and thank me now. Because it's THAT good.

Go ahead... thank me... I'm waiting.

How many of you have one of these sitting in your house right now?

You know, a laundry basket filled with socks?  Because I did for months and months and, well, months up until this weekend.  In fact, that's the very laundry basket pictured above.

But last week I decided I had had enough of this laundry basket of socks.  I hated how it mocked me every time I walked past it. I hated how it swallowed matching socks alive in it so you couldn't find a pair when you really needed it.  I hated how it brought about tension and discord to our mornings.

So. I came up with a plan. A plan to take her down!

I emptied all of the socks out and started sorting.... and sorting.... and sorting.

I threw out mismatched socks, socks with holes in them, socks that were so soiled they would never come clean even if I buried them in bleach.

Then, I bought everybody in my family one of these...

A lingerie mesh wash bag.

I also bought a package of these babies...

Drip dry hooks that I found at a local home improvement store.

Then I labeled everybody's bags and hooks with their fist initial (something we do often in our house) so I knew who's is who's....

And I gave each person their own bag to hang in their room somewhere...

Do you know why I did all of that?!  Huh? Huh?

So that each person can put their socks in them when they take them off each night!  The bags are big enough to hold a week worth of socks, so once a week I'll do a "sock call" and each person will zip their bag up, throw it down the laundry chute and I'll do a load with everybody's sock bags!

Everybody gets their sock bag back and they can do with them as they please!  Dump them in their drawer as is, or match them and put them away.  At that point I don't care! All I know is that I will no longer have one of these in my house taunting me!

No sorting!  No huge laundry basket full of socks!  No disgruntled mornings because you can't find a match!

Hmmm, I've never been called a genius before, but this might be an appropriate time to do so. Because THIS is genius I tell you, sheer genius (if'n I do say so myself).

AND the best part is... the lingerie bags only cost a dollar something each and a pack of 6 drip dry hooks were a dollar something as well! That means that for less than $10 I brought SANITY back to my laundry life. And THAT my lazy dears is totally WORTH. IT.

You're welcome.

P.S. I had to teach my kids how to unroll and straighten out their socks so they don't go through the wash that way.  I did this by doing the first load of socks "as is" and showed them how they didn't come clean or dry. That way they really understood why they should take the time to put their socks in their sock bags all straightened out.

P.P.S. Another item I make my boys put in their sock bags is their underwear.  They wear the same exact size, so I never know who's is who's. This way their socks and underwear all stay together.

P.P.P.S. You love me... don't you?

If you loved this Lazy Mom laundry tip, then you'll also love this one where I took back my couch from the laundry!

The Hills Are Alive!

Yesterday I told you to watch Facebook and Twitter at about 7pm (EST) for some status updates that would be sure to make you go hmmmm.....

So did you?

Did you watch Facebook and Twitter?

Because if you didn't, here's what you missed.

The Lazy Dad in Lederhosen.

THAT'S what you missed alright.

Now. Here's the question you've all been asking....
(well, no one actually asked it, but I'm pretending you did, mkay?)...

WHY is The Lazy Dad in Lederhosen?

What a good question!

I'll give you a hint...

No, we aren't Catholic, but this does have something to do with Lazy Dad being in Lederhosen.

Okay, here's another hint....

Someone wearing CURTAINS.

Do you get it yet? Huh? Huh?

How about this hint (it's a big one)....

Hmmm... what does a man in Lederhosen, a Nun, a person dressed in Curtains and a Traveling Singer have in common?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Beuller?

Why, THE SOUND OF MUSIC of course!!!!

Yes, last night at our church we hosted a Sound of Music Sing-a-Long!  It was SO. MUCH. FUN.

The costumes people came in and the acting out people did were hilarious.  We laughed till we cried.  A lot.

Here was my costume.  Let's see if you can figure it out...

Excuse the wild crazed look in my eyes.  That's what being a Doe, a deer, a female deer will do to you I guess.  That and a crappy cell phone camera.

Another really clever costume was this one...

Anybody have a guess???

How about a brown paper package tied up with string?!

SO. CLEVER.

But the costume that literally made me laugh till I cried buckets, BUCKETS of tears, was this one...

Our Children's Director (who was pictured in the curtains up above) also came as the lady that wins 3rd place in the singing competition and bows over 50 times.

I. DIED. LAUGHING.

I seriously lost control.

Especially when she did this during the movie... (sorry it's so dark!)
**You may have to refresh this page to see the video**

Yes, that's about when I lost control completely. Uh, do you hear all that laughing behind the camera? That'd be me.

Even long after she had finished her bowing I still couldn't gain control. Tears. Lots of laughing tears. GOBS of laughing tears.

I love her.

We also had a crew of people act out the "So Long! Farewell!" song. Which was also another laughing tear jerker, but I didn't have the good sense to record that one. DOH!

So. That's what I did last night.

I'm betting it was way more fun than what you did last night, now what'n it?

Today

Today should prove to be very entertaining on many levels.

First of all, I'll be throwing a Christmas party for my daughter's 1st grade class today. You know, since I'm the Room Mom.

Hahahahaha! Hohehehehehehe! *snort* Hahehaheha! Ho! Hehehehehehehe! Hahahaha!

Sorry. That always makes me laugh.

Speaking of being THE Room Mom, I bet Valerie over at Assistant (to the) Room Mom is JEALOUS.  Aren't ya Val? Her blog title has brought me many hours of giggling. But you'd have to watch The Office to get it.

Anyway, back to today.  Today my new dishwasher is being delivered.  I. CAN'T. WAIT. to have clean dishes again.   We've been eating off dirty ones for months and months.

Wait, did I just say that out loud?

What I mean is, the dishes just weren't coming clean in our current dishwasher like they used to. I tried everything to fix it. Well, everything being the five things I knew to try.

1. Dishwasher Cleanser.
2. Vinegar.
3. Running the water in the sink next to it till it was hot before I started it.
4. Running a longer cycle.
5. Kicking and screaming at it.

But alas none of these things worked. It is over between us. Our relationship is beyond repair at this point.  I tried.

Also today, or rather, tonight you'll learn why The Lazy Dad was caught in this picture looking like he was wearing Lederhosen.

Better watch Twitter and Facebook for updates on that one starting at about, oh.... 7pm (EST). You're seriously not going to want to miss those updates. SERIOUSLY. Set an alarm to go off so you can find out why he may possibly be wearing LEDERHOSEN, mkay?

Perkins {Giveaway!}

Raise your hand if you have ever eaten at Perkins before?

Those of you who did NOT raise your hand, take your hand and place it directly on your forehead HARD.  Then drive directly to the nearest Perkins and thank me later.

So by now you all should know that Lazy Dad is from Wisconsin.  We spent two years of our lives there when we were brand spankin' new married.  It was some of the strangest years of this Texas girl's life.  But that's another story for another day.

However, while living in Wisconsin we used to frequent a restaurant called Perkins.  The food was always good, the bakery always smelled delish and I became a fan.

During our whirlwind of a long weekend in Wisconsin we didn't have time to squeeze in a Perkins run.  But we made sure to stop at one on our way home.

Once inside, the bakery was looking mighty fine, MIGHTY fine indeed.

I was a little bit in a holiday-ish mood while we were there so I decided to order a nice Thanksgiving/Christmas meal.

Mmm, mmm. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and a roll. It was mighty fine, MIGHTY fine indeed.

THEN, I saw this picture on the table...

OH. MY. I took one look at those Pumpkin Muffins and new I had to have one. And much to my delight, they were buy 3 muffins, get 3 free! SCORE!

So I walked out of there with a nice box of gorgeous muffins.

For the record, all of the muffins were might fine, MIGHTY fine indeed.

Seriously, they were all incredibly delicious, but the pumpkin ones were AWESOME.

If you're looking for a place to get some holiday goodies for Christmas then definitely consider Perkins Bakery. They even have pies you can pre-order.

Are you drooling yet?

Well good.  That will make what I have to say to you next very inviting...

I'm Home!

My Dear Lazy Moms,

I'm home.

Did you miss me? Did you miss me? Did you miss me? Huh, huh, huh?

I missed several things while I was gone.

  1. 3G capabilities.
  2. My electric blanket. (As you can see from this list of tweets)
  3. My beloved chocolate soy milk.
  4. YOU.

Yes, it was a rough long weekend, but I survived. I'm totally a survivor. And don't you forget it, mkay?

I have 3G in my life again, I'm currently warming myself under my electric blanket, and I'm sipping my chocolate soy milk. Ahhhhh. All is right in the world again.

And in case you were wondering how our trip was, here are some things that topped the list...

  1. My brother-in-law's wedding.
  2. Eating cheese.
  3. Having Christmas with Lazy Dad's family.
  4. My mother-in-law finding two electric throw blankets in her basement the day before we left.

Good times were had by all.

And just for the fun of it, here are some highlights since being home...

  1. I'm summoned to jury duty. That should be fun and exciting. AND they pay me $20 a day. Gosh, that should at least cover my parking expenses downtown and possibly buy me a coke!
  2. My dear, sweet, wonderful, amazing friend cleaned my house for us while we were gone. I am giddy and horrified over this all at the same time. Giddy because I came home to a clean house, horrified because now someone knows just how B. A. D. my house looked when I left it. *shudder*
  3. There were two packages waiting for me when we got home. I love packages waiting for me when I get home.
  4. My electric blanket and I are back in each others arms again.
It's good to be home.

No 3G

Things you do when there's no 3G network and your cell phone doesn't work for five days...
  1. Cry a little.
  2. Finish reading that book you started a month ago.
  3. Sit and stare at the wall.
  4. Stand in different positions and places hoping it will make something work.
  5. Go through withdrawls.
  6. Cry a lot.
  7. Remember what it's like to hold a conversation with someone face-to-face.
  8. Give yourself pep talks during the dark moments... "you can do this, you can do this, you can do this."
  9. Remind yourself that there's people in the world who don't even have a cell phone and try not to feel sorry for yourself.
  10. Cry even more.

Yesterday

Yesterday my brother-in-law got married.

It was such a great day.  Everything was beautiful.

Well, except the weather.

Because also yesterday there was a blizzard.

At least that's what people were calling it.  Whether it was truly a blizzard or not, I don't know. What I do know is that we got 12.8 inches of snow yesterday alone.  On top of the however-many-inches we got the day before.

This made for a fun day of running in and out of buildings with snow boots on with our dresses and holding plastic bags over our hair to keep it from getting wet.

Also yesterday I looked like a salsa dancer.

Just thought you might like to know.
