Pintrest.
Has sucked me in people.
I knew it might seeing that so many others had talked about their new addiction to it. So I resisted asking for an invite to it until about a week ago, when I decided the suspense over what was so great about Pintrest had finally tipped the scales enough for me that I wanted to find out.
For those of you who don't know about Pintrest, RUUUN! Run for your liiiiiives!
Just kidding.
Pintrest is an online "bulletin board" of sorts that lets you "pin" things you find while you're browsing the internet onto your "boards" so you can remember it later or tell the Pintrest world you loved it. THEN you can see what other people pin and "repin" it to your board if you want.
Or in other words, Pintrest sounds really boring, but that's what they do to draw you in and slowly suck the life out of you.
I speak truth people.
You know you've been drawn in when you start telling telling other people all the great stuff you've seen on there (seriously, there's some great ideas on there -- that people have entirely too much time on their hands to come up with).
And you know it's slowly sucking the life out of you when you find yourself, like I did, up after midnight cutting up an old t-shirt to turn into a bracelet.
No lie.
I have proof.
See???
WHAT HAVE I BECOME?!?!
(p.s. My bracelet isn't nearly as cute as the original ones I saw.)
AND, I had pinned those cute little jersey knit bracelets onto my pin board entitled, "Stuff I'll Never Do."
AND YET I DID IT.
Pintrest has me doing crazy things people, CRAZY THINGS! Well, crazy things for a lazy mom to do.
Just yesterday Pintrest had me pull out my blender to whip up a drink recipe I saw on it! I repeat... it made me PULL OUT MY BLENDER. You know, from the depths of my pots and pans cabinet? You know, where no man has ever dared to go before?!
I just have one thing to say.
WHAT HAS COME OVER ME?!
I keep checking for fevers, but I don't have any.
Maybe, just maybe I've been reinspired by Pintrest? Is it possible?? I mean, I've done crafty things before. But I gave up on that years ago. It was too much work to be crafty. (Can I get a witness?) And yet, here I am, getting all crafty with it.
Well okay, two things. Two things I've done. Does that count as getting crafty with it?
(I'll be posting the blender recipe I tried yesterday very soon, cause it's a *gasp* Lazy Mom Recipe!!!)
So yes. Pintrest. It will suck your current life out of you and replace it with a newly inspired crafty life.
And let that be a warning to you.
Wait. What's that? I think I hear Pintrest calling me now. PRAAAAY FOR MEEEEE!!!

Praying for you sweetie. I made some chocolate chip cookie, with cookies in the middle and then brownie mix on top and served it with ice cream and it is so NOT lazy to make, but the smiles on all my kids faces sure made it worth it!
ReplyDeletehahahaha.... Didn't take long to surrender to it!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! I love it! I think Pinterest is going to help me become crafty in more places than just my head...at least that is my justification for "checking" it often... :)
ReplyDeleteI've been resisting but I feel the call....like a physical tugging!!
ReplyDeleteThe Man Beast recently found Stumble (or whatever that is...). Of course now you've got me curious and I'm going to have to go check it out!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I have been slooowly getting sucked into Pinterest. Not enough yet to actually DO anything that I've pinned, other than a recipe I found for a single-serving of safe-to-eat-raw cookie dough. I've probably made it about 5 times now. *blush* Other than that, the great ideas and recipes just stay on my little pinterest world, teasing me.
ReplyDeleteAt least you own a blender. Does that make me even lazier or what??? :-) I've avoided Pintrest for a reason...the exact reasons you listed.
ReplyDeleteLOL I'm cracking up at how you photographed your jersey-knit-bracelet with your hand in your pocket just like the original post. That's something I'd do. *giggle*
ReplyDeleteI used a cleaning technique on there. Its sort of a lazymom thing. You take your stove grates & put them in a bag with ammonia overnight (outside) and the grease just wipes off.
ReplyDeleteIt worked. My stove looks amazing. I'm never cooking again!
LOL
as you well know, I am addicted.
ReplyDeleteSo true - I'm right there with ya!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree!!!
ReplyDeleteI love pinterest! This was a great post, and I am now following you. I love the boards you created. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI signed up today...Now you got me worried!
