This summer I got a new hankering for something. One of those frozen coffee blender icy drink thingys.
I guess the real word for them is Frappuccino. Although McD's calls them Frappe's. I don't care what you call them, I call them GOOD.
However, I do NOT call the price tag on these little frozen yummies good. It's more like, "ouch."
So what's a lazy mom to do when she loves her frozen coffee blender icy drink thingys, but can't afford to be hurting her bank account over them?!
She makes her own LAZY version of her frozen coffee blender icy drink thingys, of course!
So I found a couple of recipes off of Pintrest for frappuccinos and while they were pretty easy, I decided to make it even lazier.
What can I say?
I enjoy the simple things in life.
That and I don't like being in my kitchen too long.
So here you have it lazy moms....
Lazy Mocha Frappuccino
(makes one tall glass)
1/2 cup milk (I use skim)
1 Tbs instant coffee
1 Tbs coffee creamer (liquid or powder - whatever flavor you like)
2 Tbs Hershey's chocolate syrup
10 ice cubes
Pour all the ingredients into a blender and blend till smooth. Pour into a tall glass and sip with a straw. Mainly because I found it nearly impossible to drink these without a straw. That and you may need to stir occasionally with your straw to reblend the drink together.
Now for some variations. Cause I'm super awesome like that. And I like options in life.
If you prefer Caramel Frappuccinos, simply change out the chocolate syrup with caramel syrup.
If you like Caramel Mocha Frappuccinos then do 1 tablespoon of each!
If you like more of a coffee flavor than a chocolate or caramel flavor, simply add another tablespoon of instant coffee. (In other words, there's lots of wiggle room to make these the way you like them!)
Ta-daaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
THIS, my lazy friends, is so easy even a lazy mom can do it and save herself tons of money and calories too! One of these bad boys only has about 180 calories in it.
And if you are feeling too cold for a frappuccino, don't forget about my Lazy Mom Mocha!

I have to say Im glad I came across this blog!!! I used to drink one Frappe or a DD Latte one day. I was hooked and the lbs showed..... Now I am hooked on SHakes by Vi!! Love them and so much healthier!!! Love your blog!! Keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeletenot sure if this is any lazier, but there sure is less mess to clean up: dump all ingredients in a plastic baggie and seal. fill a freezer bag with ice and salt, insert baggie of ingredients, seal and shake until frozen consistancy desired. yum! did this with milk, sugar and vanilla and made some decent ice cream!!
ReplyDeletePerfect day to try a recipe like this!
ReplyDeleteWell Done! from one Lazy Mom to another =)) ennnnjoooyyy!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! Aaaah! LOOOOOVE!
ReplyDeleteI wish I didn't hate cleaning my blender. Got anything for that??
Sounds awesome. I just may be trying to make one of these tomorrow when I need my caffeine boost.
ReplyDeleteThe way to clean the blender... Put 2 inches of warm water in, add a small drop of dishwasher soap and pulse the blender. Dump out water and rinse... set to dry! Easy, even a Lazy Dad can do it!
