Burlap Wreath with Rosettes

So the other day I was thinkin' to myself,
"Self, why don't you have a wreath up for Fall?".
And I came to the conclusion
that there was absolutely no good reason
for it whatsoever.
So, I decided to make a wreath from
what I had available.

Burlap: check.
Hot glue: check.
Styrofoam Wreath: no check.

I was just about to round up the troops
and take them to the Dollar Tree to get a wreath,
when I decided to give myself a little
challenge.
I decided to look through my craft supplies
to see if I had anything else that I could
use to shape my wreath.

Turns out I had a bunch of
wire that I had completely forgotten about.

and you KNOW this girl has
plenty of burlap hanging around!

So, I decided to give it a shot.
Got nothin' to lose, right?
Worst case scenario I would end up with
a piece of junk and find myself at the
store buying a $1.00 wreath.
I think I can handle that.

So, I took my wire and shaped it
in a circle the size I wanted my wreath to be.
Then I just started polking holes in the
burlap with the wire and started loading it on.

I didn't know what I was going for at first,
but then I realized that the more
irregular
it looked, the better.

So then I started zig-zaging the burlap,
placing the wire in from
side to side.

...and then I thought,
"hmmmmm...this just might work!"

I kept zig-zaging until I felt like it
was dense enough.
Then I used my needle nose pliers to
secure the wire.

...and then bunched the burlap
over the wire.

But my wreath needed something else.

So I made some rosettes to go on it.

Not bad for $0, right?
Think about the endless possibilities!
After Thanksgiving, I'll replace with neutral rosettes
with colorful fun Christmas tones!
Until next time,
Happy Decorating!
