Lazy Mom Christmas Cookie Week: Cornflake Wreaths

Welcome to Lazy Mom Christmas Cookie week here on I'm a Lazy Mom! A week full of Christmas cookies and treats that are so easy... even a lazy mom can make them. *Ba-da-ch!*

I thought I'd kick off the cookie laziness with a real festive looking treat perfect for Christmas! It was sent in by Mary L. who said, "They're kind of like Rice Krispie Treats.  The kids go crazy for them....'big kids' included!"

Cornflake Wreaths

Makes about 12

1/2 cup butter
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp green food color
4 cups corn flakes
Red Hots candies or red licorice for decorating (optional)

Melt butter in a large sauce pan, add marshmallows, stirring until all marshmallows are melted. Add vanilla and food coloring; stir until it is a uniform green color.

When mixture is smooth, add corn flakes; mix well but gently so as not to crush the cornflakes.

Form into 3" wreath shapes on sheets of waxed paper, decorate with Red Hots or licorice bows. Let cool.

And there you have it! A fun, festive, lazy recipe for your Christmas celebrations!  And many more to come this week!
