Let's face it. Even the best of mothers sometimes just don't get motherhood right, or they are knocking on the door of mommy insanity and need to do some sort of short cut in order to keep them from checking in at the funny farm.
Here's a few moms that have recently come out of the shadows and are divulging their lazy mom moments to help clear their consciences and make other mothers out there feel better about themselves.
I applaud them for their candidness and bravery.
Recently at Applebee's I let my 14 month old run up and down the aisle after he insisted on getting out of the high chair. At least, it was a Saturday and the restaurant was not busy. I just wanted to eat a little bit of my food! ~ Ellie

The only reason my 3 yr old daughter has pj's (not during winter) is because someone else gave them to her. Otherwise, she just goes to bed in her shirt she wore during the day, and a pull-up (she isn't potty training at night, but that could be my fault because I don't want to have to get up to change her bedding all the time).
Sometimes, I even plan ahead for my laziness. When she is being super resistant at night (or when I want to see the end of a show), I tell her that she can lay on the couch if she is good and gets ready for bed. I just let her fall asleep on the couch while I watch the Bachelorette/Dancing with the Stars or any other show.
You think that's bad, here's the kicker...I'll change her shirt and she'll wear it in the morning to daycare, because I know she'll be tired and grouchy from staying up too late!
Aaahh! Feels good to get that out! ~ Sarah

When my kids were small, I would forget to bring a bib with me, and we would end up at some restaurant. So, I would just flip their shirts inside out. Any stains would get on the opposite side, and, when we were done, I would flip their shirt right side out, and they would be presentable again! ~ Leanna

My son had troubles with wetting the bed every night for years. I got tired of constantly shampooing the mattress and using air fresheners in his room because the so-called leak proof mattress pads never worked. My husband and I got rid of his mattress because we just couldn't get the smell out.
He still had not grown out of wetting the bed, so we put a camping air mattress on his bed. That way it was easy clean up and his bedroom didn't smell like urine anymore. His twin size sheets fit it perfectly. Once he learned to control his bladder, we purchased a new (real) mattress for his bed. ~ Melody

I love Leanna's confession. That would also be considered a Lazy Mom tip to me! Genius!
ReplyDeleteI love these. I let my year old daughter stay up and play when she wakes up and I want to finish watching something. It's just easier that way.
