You're Gonna Want To Hurt Me {and a Jaw Dropping Lazy Mom Tip!}

So I have some more Lazy Mom Texas Recipes to share with you.

But not today.

*smile*

No, today I thought I'd make you want to hurt me.

Let me explain....

Last week my sweet Aunt Sherril invited my daughter and I over to her house to learn how to make her world famous, light and fluffy, make you die from delight, sugar cookies.

Naturally, we couldn't turn down such an offer to learn how to make these highly loved and adored cookies she makes.  Even if they aren't a Lazy Mom Recipe.

So we high-tailed it over there and got ready to learn from my Aunt, who, by the way, is such a good cook, she had her dressing featured in the Cotton Patch Cafe menu for years and years.  And many places still carry it seasonally.

See?  Here's a picture of the sign in her kitchen.

I'm telling ya!  We were learning from the real deal here, people!

Plus, she's just as cute as can be. (It clearly runs in the family.)

Oo! Oo! AND she has an awesome, jaw-dropping Lazy Mom Tip to share with all of you (so keep reading!)

My Aunt had the recipe all printed up for us on cute paper and at just the right height for my daughter.  (I told you she was awesome. This, incidentally, also runs in the family.)

Off to work she went.

Measuring and mixing.

After the batter was ready, we stuck it in the fridge to chill for several hours.

Then it was back to work!

Well... some of us got back to work.

Others (who shall remain nameless) might have sipped iced tea while she watched the others work.

What?  I just can't NOT be lazy!  I have a blog image to uphold, after all!

But I knew it was getting serious when my Aunt broke out the cute apron for my daughter to wear.

Seriously.  How cute are these pictures with her in that apron?

She had a blast being a super cute little baker who has a mom that's gorgeous.

She even got to pick all the icing colors and mix them herself.

So see?  At this point if I hadn't been lazily watching, I would have stolen so much joy from her. And I'm too good of a mom than to do that to my baby!

Now, here comes the part where you're going to won't to hurt me.  Remember?  I was explaining why you would want to?

I know, I know... it was so long ago, I almost forgot too.

But while I've been showing you these cute pictures and the telling you all about my amazing Aunt who makes THE best sugar cookies in the whole wide world of Texas (you do know Texans think it's the whole world, right?) I just have one thing to tell you....

I'm not sharing the recipe with you.

*throws hands up in defense of punches*

I know it's tough being you right now, but listen to me for a second!  Even though my Aunt is SO sweet and told me I should share her recipe with all of you (she's on a mission to create great cookie bakers for following generations), I feel that I should at least have the fun of having a much sought after recipe for AT LEAST a little while.  Surely you understand.  Seeing that no one would ever categorize my recipes as "highly sought after."

So while I'm busy enjoying having a recipe that is SUPER AWESOME (again, totally runs in the family), here is a little something to help soften the blow of how much you want to hurt me right now....

A jaw dropping Lazy Mom Tip!  Straight from my Aunt!

Are you ready for it?

It's jaw dropping!

So get ready to drop your jaw.

Here is how my Aunt cleans up her kitchen after baking and cooking...

She opens her back door and then does this:

Did your jaw just drop?

Is this not the most brilliant Lazy Mom Tip EVER?!

Don't you wish she was your Aunt now?

She even let me daughter do some "clean-up" too.

Blown right out the back door with lots of giggles and laughter!  (After I picked up my jaw.)
