I love Lazy Mom Confessions. They make me feel like a normal mom again, put a bounce in my step, and usually make me laugh with understanding. Because let's face it, mom's don't always get it right. And sometimes out of sheer desperation, we fudge a little.
Just a teensy-weensy little.
Or a lot.
So today, I thought I'd share two Lazy Mom Confessions that have been sent in to me recently. And if you have one to share, be sure and submit it to me too! (If you dare!!)
There has been an occasion or two (okay there may be more than once or twice but it's not a regular thing, I promise!) where my dishwasher is full and there is still dirty dishes in the sink. And of course this is when someone will call and give me little notice that they are popping by for some reason or another. In a mad panic dash to clean whatever I can in the time I have before they arrive... I have stashed dirty dishes in the oven and nicely placed a clean tea towel on the handle, covering the window so you can't see my dirty little secret! My husband always jokingly threats to expose my little trick to friends and family. Well I have just done that myself, ha! Feels good to get it off my chest! ~ Marilyn

My kids came into the kitchen this morning as I stuffed the last bite of a brownie in my mouth. They each asked if they could have one brownie (leftover from last night) to which I replied, in my most responsible mother's voice, (and after discreetly swallowing) "We don't eat brownies for breakfast, but you can all have one after lunch today." Parenting is so much fun! ~ Chana

I have a basin under the kitchen sink where I keep dishes that are not dishwasher safe or don't fit. All. the. time. No dirty dishes on counters here!

OMG! I do that "brownie" thing too.

ReplyDeleteWhenever I stop by here...I am reminded anew that you and I could SO BE FRIENDS in real life...if only blogging involved teleporting. Keep sharin the love and exposing the lazy...not taking ourselves too seriously is a key to joy...and our kids are watching always! You go girlfriend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI would so forget to get the dishes from under the sink and would probably be walking around for days trying to find the smell....as far as the brownies (hand clap)Kudos, i always get caught putting the last bite in my mouth
