Recently a SUPER lazy recipe landed in my email inbox and I just couldn’t wait to share it with all of you gorgeous, adorable, sweet lazy moms out there (and okay, handsome lazy dads).
This recipe was submitted by Jamie and here is what she had to say about it:
I know it seems that there is no way the roast will cook in 5 hours from frozen and without any liquid, but it does and it SO yummy!!
So, take it away Jamie! Tell us what to do!
2-3 lb. FROZEN roast (great for us lazy moms who forgot to thaw the roast the night before!)
½ packet of Italian Dressing mix
Place frozen roast in crock pot. Sprinkle with dressing mix. Cook on low for 5 hours.
I have made this and unbelievably that roast is done in only 5 hours even though it started out frozen!
The recipe on the website I found it on (www.passionatepennypincher.com) used this as a base for wraps – she shredded it and served it in a wrap with cheese, sour cream and tomatoes.
I didn’t have all of this on hand, so I added a packet of dry brown gravy mix and 1 cup of water the last 15 minutes of cooking to form a gravy with the juices from the roast. Then I took the roast out and cut it into chunks and served as beef tips and gravy over rice.
Thanks for sharing with us Jamie! If you have a lazy recipe to share, send it to me! It just might make it on the ol’ blog.
