“If you have extra clothes, you should share with those who have none. And if you have extra food, you should do the same.” Luke 3:11
I was thinking about my oldest Little Darling’s memory verse this morning and it made me think of this verse: “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22
We had some pretty flowers left over on Sunday from a potluck we attended. We got sent home with a vase full of some. My husband had just recently bought me flowers (isn’t he so sweet?) so we had “extra.”
So I wanted my Little Darling to “do what the word says.” He delivered our extra flowers to our elderly next door neighbor. She’s in her 80’s and is a widow. No telling the last time she got flowers delivered to her door.
I know I was challenged by his memory verse today! So this is just your friendly Lazy Mom reminder to be a “doer” today!
UPDATE: Much to our surprise, here’s what happened after he delivered the flowers….
The other day when my oldest LD delivered the flowers to our elderly next door neighbor she was on the phone when he came to the door. Well, yesterday she came out to talk to my husband while he was outside working around the house. She told him that the day they delivered the flowers to her was the 10 year anniversary of her sons death. She was so touched that we had given her those flowers and said it was “a divine moment.”
We think so too.
