It’s time for another great Lazy Mom tip!!!
Aren’t you excited?!
Cause you should be.
(Just so you know.)
So our latest Lazy Mom tip is something I’ve been doing for quite some time. In fact, I mentioned it in this post about how to make a Lazy Mom smoothie.
Got any of these hanging around?
You know… bananas that are just about to go bad.
Don’t you just HATE to throw them away? I mean, it used to pain me every time. It was like taking three dollars out of my purse and tossing it in the trash.
Until one day, a fellow pastor’s wife told me the greatest banana tip EVER.
Instead of throwing those bad boys into the trash, walk a few extra steps and throw them in your freezer!
Yes. You heard me right.
Put your almost bad bananas in your freezer from now on. As is. Just toss ’em in there girls!
I used to take the time to peel them and put them in a baggie before I tossed them in the freezer, but then I wised up. They aren’t hard to peel frozen (especially if they sit on the counter for just a few minutes before hand). I just use a knife to peel them.
Now, if you do toss them into the freezer, peel and all, don’t be alarmed the next time you open the freezer… they will turn completely black.
But don’t panic!
Don’t freak out!
The banana inside is perfectly fine. I PROMISE.
If the black banana peel grosses you out, then you can do what I used to do and peel them, put them in a baggie and then put them in the freezer. But seriously, why waste a baggie and your time. Be brave! Put them in there peel on!
I DARE YOU.
So…. what can you do with frozen bananas???
Well, you can make this Lazy Mom smoothie. Or any other smoothie that calls for a banana if you like!
You can also defrost them and then they are perfect for banana bread! They have to be over ripe bananas for that anyway, right?
Anyone have a good Lazy Mom banana bread recipe?
Anyone else have a good idea for what to do with frozen, over ripe bananas??? Leave a comment below to tell us about it!
And someone out there has GOT to have that Lazy Mom banana bread recipe, right?! I’ll even overlook the five ingredient rule if it’s EASY to make and tastes delicious!
Aren’t I generous?
I think so.
