Today is yet another installment of our fabulous Lazy Mom Tips. Okay. Maybe I only think they are fabulous, but whatever.
For all of you moms out there who now have mashed potatoes for brains (you know who you are), this is a great one for you! I absolutely can NEVER remember to take certain things with me when I’m leaving the house. I walk out the door with that feeling of knowing I’m forgetting something, I just can’t remember what!
If you find yourself in the same boat as me (mashed potato brains and can’t remember what you were doing two seconds ago) then never fear! This simple Lazy Mom Tip is here to save the day!
Tape notes to your door! I started doing this shortly after I had kids going to preschool. You know how you get those notes sent home from school saying, “Friday is show n’ tell. Bring in something that starts with the letter D.” Yeah, like I’m going to remember that come Friday! So I either post the note to our back door right then, or I write myself a note and tape it up there.
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but the key is to make sure you tape the note to the door that you ALWAYS leave out of. This has saved me so many times people! I can’t even count how many times we will be heading out the door and I go to open it and BAM! there’s a note reminding me of something (school picture day…. don’t forget to deposit that check…. get milk)! It’s truly a life saver.
So, it’s not a FABULOUS tip today. It’s not glamorous. Shoot, it’s not even worth leaving a comment over. BUT, if you put this tip into action you will thank me later. I promise.
