Now this tip is a TRUE lazy, Lazy Mom tip!!! So be prepared!
At my house I am not an early riser. I downright HATE getting up early in the morning. Since I homeschool my oldest Little Darling and my younger two go to preschool, we have yet to feel the pinch of HAVING to get up early in the morning to get everyone off to school on time (Praise God!).
So in an all out effort to get my kids to sleep in as long as possible, so that I can, we have a fun little game we play with them….
Every night when they go to bed we tell our kids that the person that sleeps IN the longest WINS! Yes, I know. It’s pathetic and sad, but when you HATE to wake up early like I do, then you would TOTALLY do this! And yes, I do exploit the competitiveness of my sons to get them to be the last one to get up. This is also sad and pathetic, but I’m okay with that now.
This actually works really well for us. My sons (who are the earliest risers in our family usually) sometimes just lay in bed and pretend they are still asleep until they hear everyone else up first! Then they come downstairs and triumphantly cry, “I WON! I got up last!”
I know that I am totally exposing just how lazy I am by posting this, but hey… I’m all about being real! And I know that being a true lazy mom has nothing to do with being lazy in this way, so don’t confuse our meaning as such. I just happen to be a lazy, Lazy Mom!
