OH BOY have I got a good tip for you lazy moms today! I’m super excited to tell you it because it’s something I’ve been doing for quite a while now and I just realized yesterday that this was a GREAT Lazy Mom Tip!
So let’s cut to the chase. Here it is…
This here’s a picture (that’s Texas Talk, in case you were wondering) of a countdown of sorts that I write on my handy dandy chalkboard.
My chalkboard is seriously one of my favorite things in my kitchen. It’s a place for us to jot down grocery items, phone call messages and apparently, medicine countdowns. Which is the whole reason I’m telling you about it.
The medicine countdown tip is perfect for lazy moms. Especially forgetful lazy moms. Which may be a good description of me. *ahem*
Whenever I have a child, or yes even myself who needs to take medicine for a certain period of time, I write a little countdown on my chalkboard so I can remember if I dispensed medicine to whoever needed it that day!
For instance, I’m on a 7 day medicine stint right now to try and remedy some stomach problems I’ve had since I had my gallbladder out. (Remember that whole horrible incident?) And I knew I would NEVER remember if I took my medicine or not so I made myself a little countdown thingy (actually, it’s a countup, but whatever. Mere technicality.) to help me remember!
Do you see the beauty of this tip yet?
Well let me break it down for you…
You (or someone you love) is sick and is put on medicine.
You can never remember if that person has taken their medicine for that day.
You make a countdown (or countup) thingy in your kitchen somewhere.
You cross off the number each time you give the person medicine.
You miraculously can now remember to dispense/take medicine in your household!
It’s a great lazy mom tip, is it not?
Yes, yes it is by golly!
It’s been a wonderful little tip that we’ve used in this lazy household for a while now. When I have multiple people on medicine around these parts then I just put a first letter initial by each countdown so we know who’s whose.
Which also shows how wonderful this tip is for remembering MORE THAN ONE medicine dispensing situations at once.
Oh, and when you have medicine that has to be taken twice a day (or more), then I just do like this…
And just cross off the number when I give the medicine!
AND I just remembered another good point in favor of this tip… the medicine countdown also clues in the other parent if you’ve given medicine to your child for that day already AND where you are in the process!!!!
Aren’t we brilliant?
You can tell us.
We promise not to let it go to our heads.
