I have a secret to tell y’all.
My kids love vegetables.
Shhh! Don’t tell anyone! (Especially them.)
But here’s the deal y’all, they like eating them when their all sliced up, have a dip and sitting all prettily in a tray like this:
I discovered this after the infamous Favorite Things Party I helped throw a few weeks ago. I came home with leftovers on this veggie tray and the kids cheered when I walked in the door with it! THEY LITERALLY CHEERED over this veggie tray… even though in my other hand was leftover Taffy Apple Pizza! *clutching my heart braced for a heart attack*
So I checked them for a fever and then I watched them devour what was left on the veggie tray in 5 minutes flat.
And then I thought.
Hmm, I have more veggies in the fridge I could cut up and put on this tray for tomorrow.
And then I chopped.
And the next day after school I pulled out the newly stocked veggie tray and watched them devour it again.

So I decided I was on to something…. if they’ll keep eating it, I’ll keep filling it!
And ever since that left-over-veggie-tray night I’ve been trying my hardest to keep the veggie tray filled. It’s nice to have it ready for a snack and it’s helped me to eat more veggies too! Cha-ching!
Now I know that keeping a veggie tray stocked with cut up vegetables for your kids doesn’t sound very lazy momish, but really it is! There’s always a healthy snack ready and it takes a pretty minimal amount of work to accomplish it!
