You know those pesky plastic bags that pile up in your home after every grocery store run?
They’re pesky, are they not?
Over the years I’ve done various things to try and deal with them. One of the most popular being to put them in those plastic bag holder thingys.
This works pretty well until you don’t use the bags as fast as you put them in and the plastic bag holder thingy gets stuffed to the gills and try as you might no more will fit in it and the plastic bag holder thingy overflows and forms a pile of plastic bags around it and causes the same problem you had to start with anyway! *gasping for a breath*
No. I’ve come up with a better solution. Well, at least a better solution for me. So I decided, why not share my better solution with you.
It’s so simple.
So not a tip, that I’ve declared it a Lazy Mom Tip anyway.
Cause I can.
I keep one of those really cheap thin canvas totes (you know, those really cheap thin ones?) that just landed at my house one day from who-knows-where right next to my recycling bins and stuff the pesky little plastic bags in there.
As soon as the bag gets full I put it next to my purse so I remember to take it to the grocery store with me the next time I go.
Because my grocery store (okay, okay, Walmart) has a plastic bag bin you can dump these bad boys into when you walk in the door. Doesn’t yours?
So I carry my tote bag in, dump them off and then use the tote to help carry home some of my new groceries and start all over again.
Not even tip worthy, no?
So easy even a lazy mom can do it, no?
Now some of you may be saying, “Uh, a LAZY mom would just throw these plastic bags away instead of going to all this trouble.”
Buh, buh, but! You must be forgetting all the times you need these pesky little bags.
These pesky little bags act as:
~ the bathroom trash can liner
~ an “I have to take 2 dozen cookies to school tomorrow” transporter
~ a “take some tomatoes over to the neighbor” shuttler
~ a “we need plastic bags at school for a project” fulfiller
~ an “I need to return these items to so-and-so” collector
~ an emergency “I’m gonna throw up!” barf holder
And even as we speak, one of these pesky little bags is serving as Lazy Dad’s lunch
I have to keep these pesky little bags around! I can’t just throw them away. How else will we function in life?!
I’d love to know what you do with your pesky little plastic bags. Leave a comment and tell me.
Or else just leave me a comment to tell me I’m gorgeous.
Those are your only commenting choices, mkay?
