Wow. We have reached a milestone my fellow lazy moms. We have hit a staggering 20 lazy mom tips!
Now I know what you might be thinking… “20 is a milestone?” and the answer is HECK YEAH! At least it is when you are a lazy mom and took a good year and a half to get to it! So rejoice! Go out and hug someone, or better yet, go implement ALL 20 lazy mom tips immediately. Well, okay. Since we’re lazy, just go implement one for crying out loud.
So anyway, on to the tip….
This tip actually came from my brother who is a definite lazy dad. One of the best lazy dad’s I know, by the way. It must run in our blood.
I was at his house over Thanksgiving (geez, did it take me THAT long to post about this?) and as we were chatting in the laundry room he went to start a new load. To my surprise he filled the measuring cup to the first line and then threw the whole thing into the washing machine. I don’t just mean the detergent, I mean the whole CUP went into the wash.
I think he noticed that I was wondering what he was doing because he proceeded to tell me the following.
“Haven’t you ever noticed how you can NEVER get all the liquid soap out of the cup when you pour it into the washing machine?”
“Ye-es,” I sputtered.
“Well I decided to fix that problem I would just start throwing the whole cup in the wash. Works great!”
“Wow… I never would have thought of that.”
“Then I thought to myself, why not just throw it into the dryer too instead of hunting for it in the washing machine. So into the dryer it goes! When I’m pulling out the clothes to fold them I find the cup and do it all over again.”
Not a bad idea, right? Right! As soon as I got home I implemented this great tip and it works beautifully! I usually don’t have a problem finding the cup in the washing machine when the wash is finished, so I don’t always throw it in the dryer, but my brother keeps several cups from previous laundry detergent on hand so he has a cup for each load that goes in and out!
