For those of you who have children that are in school and yet still have some little darlings at home, you will KISS me for this next lazy mom tip! It is SOOOOO good and quite possibly the smartest thing I have ever. done. For real.
When my boys went off to school, my mom sent them lunch boxes. She didn’t want my littlest child to miss out, so she also sent her a lunch box as well, even though she was going to be at home with me.
The first night we made lunches in the new lunch boxes for the boys, she whipped her lunch box out and asked for her lunch. For a second I was thinking about telling her, “We don’t have to pack you a lunch, blah, blah, blah…” but then I had a stroke of brilliance! Light streamed in through the kitchen window! The veil was lifted! Birds started singing!
Okay. I had a good idea.
Why not pack her a lunch, too! So I did! And let me tell you, it was SO awesome! The next day when she informed me she was hungry, I just told her to go to the refrigerator and pull her lunch out and have at it. It was wonderful! No, stopping what I’m doing. No getting my lazy butt up. No trying to figure out what on earth I was going to make her. None of that! It was already done. Brilliant!
So that’s what we’ve been doing ever since. Every school night we pack all THREE of them a lunch. It’s fantastic! You MUST try this at your house. When you do, you can totally thank me with gift cards or cash. I take either.
