Let’s face it.
We’re lazy moms.
We don’t have the time or energy that super moms have.
So for today’s Lazy Mom Christmas Cookie Week post I thought I’d share with you all a few Christmas cookie recipes that LOOK like you slaved in the kitchen all day, but really you just jazzed up some already made cookies to look more festive for that Christmas party you’ll be invited to.
Now you can look like a super mom, but secretly be a lazy mom.
White Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies
1 package Oreo cookies
6 ounces white chocolate
1 package peppermint sprinkles (find some here)
Melt white chocolate. Dip each Oreo in the white chocolate, then lay out on parchment paper. Sprinkle with peppermint sprinkles. Let them cool for about 30 minutes.
Crushed peppermint candy (find some here)
Melt chocolate. Dip one half of each cookie into the chocolate. Place on parchment paper and sprinkle with the peppermints. Refrigerate until the chocolate is set, 25 to 30 minutes.
Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies
Refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough
Chocolate-covered mini pretzels (see note below)
Mini brown M&M’s (find some here)
Regular-sized red M&M’s
Preheat oven to package directions.
To make reindeer-shaped cookies, form cookie dough into 1-inch balls, pinch the bottom of the ball slightly to form a point, then gently flatten with your hand.
Space cookies about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until set or just beginning to brown.
Remove from oven and immediately (and gently) press two mini pretzels into the tops of the cookies for the reindeer’s antlers. (NOTE: These mini pretzels can be very hard to find, here is a 6 pound bag I found on Amazon, but they are not chocolate covered. You would need to dip them yourself. Another option is to buy dark chocolate covered Chex Mix and use the mini pretzels in it!) If you know of a place to find these, please let me know!) Press two mini brown M&M’s in for the eyes and one red M&M for the nose.
Allow to cool 2 minutes on the baking sheet and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
1 18-ounce tube of refrigerated sugar-cookie dough
3 tubes of M&M’s Minis (find some here)
Heat oven according to the package directions.
Cut the dough into 1/4-inch slices. Arrange on an ungreased baking sheet. Using green, yellow, and brown M&M’s Minis, design Christmas trees as shown in photo.
Bake until golden as the label directs. Cool on wire racks.
