It ripped my heart out and struck fear in me like never before. So naturally I thought I’d share it with you below. But be forewarned, your heart may pound frantically while reading her email.
I had a panic attack last night.
Because my electric blanket is not working!!!!
I can hear your pulse quickening too. Breathe, Stacey, just breathe.
What am I going to do now?? I’m going to have to wait until CHRISTMAS to get a new one. That’s right, Christmas, December 25th. Do you know how many cold nights watching TV on the couch I’m going to have to endure?!? That’s exactly 41 more nights from now. Oh the agony…oh the suffering…oh the goosebumps. Please put my name on your church prayer chain. How about you have your members sign up for prayer time slots nightly from 8 until 10 p.m.
Hmmm…I just had a thought….if my husband had his way we’d be missionaries in Africa right now and this whole “electric blanket tragedy” wouldn’t be an issue. OK, I guess you can forget the prayer chain, but please think of me shivering every night as I sit on my couch. *eyes swelling with tears*
They say you burn more calories when you’re cold; just think of how skinny I’ll be come December 25th!
Signed your frozen friend,
P.S. OK, seriously now, I do need your help — the light on my controller keeps blinking whenever I turn on the blanket. I’ve checked the plugs/connectors and can’t find anything wrong. Have you ever had this happen to your best friend…uh…I mean your blanket?
THE HORROR!!! I told you it was a scary email!
You all know my love for and tireless work to see precious little electric blankets everywhere get adopted. Yes, I’m an electric blanket philanthropist. Quite possibly the one and only. Shedding light on the need for electric blankets in our nation to find good caring homes where they can warm the hearts of their adopted family.
What? We all have our thing.
So Carrie. Update us, my friend! Did you take your electric blanket to the hospital (manufacturer) and were they able to treat (fix) it?
I NEED CLOSURE!
