Wednesday was a busy day ’round these parts.
The kids went to school, we celebrated my younger son’s spiritual birthday, we listed our house for sale, we enjoyed the warm weather by taking a walk outside twice. Yup, a busy day.
And as shocking as it is to hear that I walked outside not once, but twice, on Wednesday, I’m betting you’d rather hear about that other little tidbit I threw into that sentence – we listed our house for sale.
But before I tell you about that, I’d like to ask you to please go vote for my travel blogger page. Pretty please?? All you have to do is click “like” under vote. There’s no form to fill out, there’s no email address to register… just a one second like is all it takes!
I’ll wait while you go do that.
No really, go do that. Or else I won’t tell you why we listed our house for sale!
*insert elevator music here*
Now see?! Wasn’t that super easy and took one second out of your day? The good news is you can do that every day for me till the end of the month. So thanks! *smile*
Okay, so back to listing our house for sale.
Every spring I get a bit of an itch to sell our house, but Lazy Dad is never on board with the idea. I had already thrown the idea of selling our house around for this year, and as usual Lazy Dad wasn’t interested. Until a few weeks ago when Lazy Dad noticed the people that live next to our church moved out of their house. It’s not for sale or anything, it’s just sitting there empty. So he got interested in selling our house in case that one went up for sale.
Plus he wants chickens.
And a cow.
And seeing that our neighbors in our city neighborhood probably wouldn’t like that idea so much, we would kind of like to move out in the country closer to our church.
SO. We invited a realtor over from our church to just “talk” with us on Wednesday night. And before we knew it we were signing papers to list our house.
What can I say? He’s a very persuasive realtor.
So yesterday my daughter and I cleaned out her room to get it “picture perfect” for the pictures that need to be taken for the listing here soon. It took us two hours and we filled two trash bags full of garbage. *blush*
Next up? My boys room. Lord have mercy.
After that we have five more rooms to go through, and then closets. Cause apparently you can’t hide things in closets when you’re trying to sell your house.
But the area of our house that is keeping me up at night, when I’m not busy having nightmares about it, is our basement. AHHHHHHHH!
My heart is palpitating just thinking about cleaning it out.
So if I’m sparse ’round these parts for a few weeks you now know why. I’m up to my neck in cleaning almost 12 years of marriage and 10 years of children’s stuff out of my house.
Either that or the basement ate me alive.
There’s no telling what lives down there.
