Every once in a while I get a comment or an email from moms that stumble upon I’m a Lazy Mom for the first time. Usually the reaction I get in these comments and emails is relief! *smile*
Moms everywhere need to know that they aren’t alone in this thing called motherhood and they especially need to know that ALL moms, yes, even “super moms,” don’t always get motherhood right. And that’s exactly what they find right here on this blog.
Here’s just a few of these types of comments I’ve received over the years….
Your confessions make me feel so much better because I used to think that I was the only one that this has happened to and now I realize that I am not alone in this!!! So…thank you from the bottom of my heart! 🙂 ~ Jessica
This post made me feel so much better… Suddenly, I don’t feel so alone anymore. ~ Teresha
I just wanted to say thank you! I just stumbled upon your blog and almost started crying. I am a new mom (my daughter is 16 months old) and sometimes I struggle with trying to do it all. I am a full time PhD student, I work part time for the school, and I take care of our daughter/family the rest of the time. Although most days I do well and feel good about things, sometimes I feel a bit nutty and wonder why I can’t do it all. My husband and I actually are taking on the “lazy mom” style of parenting in that we want to be teachers to our daughter. I like knowing that I can relate to other moms. ~ Jennifer
These are the types of comments that remind me why we started I’m a Lazy Mom and thrill my heart when I receive them. When a mom can feel better about her role as mom, then we’ve done a good job on this here blog.
Oh, and it’s also fun to help a lazy mom look like a super mom, too. These types of comments also make my heart happy….
I just found your blog, and I love it! I made this super easy dessert for a family get together yesterday, and everyone loved it! THANK YOU! I’m usually not very good at cooking/baking, so this was perfect! ~ Claudia
Yup. We’re here to help you look good.
And THEN there’s the blog posts people write on occasion about I’m a Lazy Mom. Just this last week fellow lazy mom, Leah, wrote a post on her blog about what she wants her blog to be like when it grows up. Much to my surprise she gave a huge shout-out to I’m a Lazy Mom. In it she says such things as….
Lazy Mom, whom I had never met or even had a conversation with helped me feel less lonely, and helped me to get my confidence as a Mom back. The stories on her blogs were just very real, and hilarious. I had been looking at all these blogs with these seemingly supermom, super organized, and crafty women and was feeling even less inadequate than I was already feeling, so when I came across Lazy Mom who actually admitted to having laundry that piles up and a life that is not straight out of Better Homes and Gardens it was a definite blessing disguised as a blog. I have since found other like minded Mamma’s but Lazy Mom will always be the comfort food of my blogging world.
Wow. I was so blessed to read her post and was freshly reminded of why we do what we do here on I’m a Lazy Mom.
So thank you to Leah and to all the other moms out there that “get it.” Not everyone does when they stop by this little ol’ lazy blog o’ mine. And that’s okay. But I love it when I hear from those of you who do!
