The Lazy Dad and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Friday. If you followed my tweets this weekend you may have noticed that we ran away together and threatened to never come back. We also warned people NOT to follow us.
I think it worked… no one did.
So we ran out of town on Thursday to head down to a B&B type place for Pastor’s. It was wonderful, refreshing, and full of romance.
On Friday morning when we woke up Lazy Dad rolled over and gazed lovingly in my eyes and said, “Happy Anniversary.”
And I gazed lovingly in his eyes and said, “Happy National Cheesecake Day.”
Because how great is that that our Anniversary is also National Cheesecake Day?!? You bet your bottom dollar we took our pretty little selves down to The Cheesecake Factory for half price cheesecake and did things up right there.
The Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake is TO DIE FOR. I could roll around in it, it was that good.
The Lazy Dad and I also did other crazy romantic things like:
- took a nap.
- went to a convenient store.
- slept in.
- went to Walmart. Twice.
Yes, we were newlywed romantic. Don’t be jealous.
But don’t worry, we did do other romantic things that really were romantic. (On the day of our Anniversary I tweeted out one word descriptions of what we did. So see? You should follow us on Twitter already.)
It was great. REALLY great.
And then we came home.
Back to reality.
Why must reality always happen at the end of a great getaway?
One of these days I’m going to refuse to come back to reality and don’t try and stop me!
