This weekend we got more snow. And starting tomorrow night, we are supposed to get another big storm that could dump 6-9 inches of snow on us…. The day before the kids and I are leaving for an extended spring break in my motherland — Texas.
SooOOooOO… with this impending new storm, we’re backing our “leave date” up and are getting the heck out of Dodge! I’m ready for warmth and sunsets and azaleas and red dirt.
Would you like to go with me?
My plan is to post some updates of our trip as we mosey to Texas and back. We’ll be gone the entire rest of the month of March! (WHAT?!) It’s going to be awesome.
While I’m visiting family, I’m hoping to blog about why I love sunsets, like this one:
I’m also hoping to blog about the house I grew up in. Here’s a painting of it to whet your whistle:
If I end up having too much fun, and don’t get around to it, I’ll be sure and post about those two things when I get back to Ohio. Along with the other adventures the kids and I have there (Texas rodeo, anyone?!).
Regardless, I’m sure I’ll be blowing up my Instagram account with Texas trip pictures, so you can follow me there if you’d like to see what we get ourselves into. (Should be lots of fun!)
Poor little Lazy Dad will be holding down the fort at home. Well, sort of. He’s got some traveling, conferences, meetings and preparations for a big grand opening at our new church to do while we’re gone. So he’ll be busy, and we’ll be out of his hair.
Until you hear from me again, you may want to peruse my past Texas trip posts. Like how I started calling my children “Half-Texans.” And how I like to indoctrinate them in Texas history by taking them on field trips I went on as a kid. And how I take you all on Texas history trips on my blog in a monotone teacher’s voice.
Or you can just take a gander at what you will in my Texas posts category to get you ready for all the fun to come!
Off to pack two days early!
