Last week, my middle child and I set off on an absolutely fun-filled adventure! We flew to Orlando, Florida and met up with my sister-in-law and nephew to be the first guests ever to stay at the brand new LEGOLAND® Hotel in Orlando!
In short, EVERYTHING. IS. AWESOME. at this kid-inspired hotel!
You may remember that we’ve been to LEGOLAND® Florida before, but this new hotel helps rounds out their property and accelerates it to super amazing! I have seriously never been so impressed with a hotel before, and you all know how much this hotel junkie has raved about hotels before!
This hotel was built with kids in mind. Literally everything is geared for kids starting at the front desk with their LEGO® flower arrangements, 5,000 Minifigure wall and kid check-in…
… to the built-in kids toilet seats in the hotel rooms!
(Yes, yes I did take a picture of their toilet seat, because hello! BRILLIANT!)
Your LEGO® fanatic children will love this hotel. There are LEGO® creations everywhere!
There’s even a “Brick Pit” in the middle of the lobby beckoning kids to come and play!
And when they use their imagination to make something really fun, it gets displayed on the wall for all to see!
There is even LEGO® bricks IN THE POOL, people!
And they are seriously awesome to play with!
Yes, fun is meant to be everywhere… and I do mean everywhere! Even in the elevators!
Where, when the doors shut, a disco ball lights up and fun disco music is played to dance to all the way to your floor!
Believe me, we boogied! We also got down and got funky, white boy.
Also, near the elevators is a fun little surprise that makes every boy (and okay, maybe some girls) giggle with delight… a whoopie cushion!
Once out of the elevators, each floor is themed according to the 3 main rooms they offer: pirate, adventure, and kingdom. (This LEGOLAND® Hotel property also has the first ever Friends themed rooms, but they don’t decorate the hallways in that theme). We stayed in a pirate themed room and even the hallway sconces were made out of LEGO® bricks and matched the theme!
And the rooms… there are just no words for how cool they are!
(It was hard to get really great pictures, sorry!)
LEGOLAND® Hotel had decked their rooms out! Did you see how even the carpet is in on the fun?!
The rooms even feature ice buckets that are LEGO® Minifigure heads and a bucket of DUPLO® LEGO® bricks to play with.
We loved seeing the attention to detail was even in the products they placed in the room.
The boys thought the room was incredible… and so did my sister-in-law and I!
There are lots of other great hotel amenities, too many to mention! But here’s a few more to tickle your fancy….
A play area just for kids in the hotel lobby:
Two places to eat or grab a drink:
Where, of course, they’ve thought of kids, as well as parents!
The food was amazing! Bricks Family Restaurant is buffet style, and unlike other area Orlando resorts, LEGOLAND® Hotel includes breakfast for all their hotel guests! (Totally awesome!)
Other amenities include:
- Exclusive Master Model Builder Sessions
- Early Resort admission
- A Treasure hunt in every room, complete with LEGO® prizes!
- Nightly LEGO® building competitions
- Nightly entertainment
- Boardwalk on Lake Eloise
- Access to our awesome heated pool
But probably one of the best features of the hotel is that it is STEPS away from the entrance to the LEGOLAND® Florida theme park and hotel guests get an early entry!
The boys had a blast seeing LEGO® creations and meeting characters in the park…
…and, of course, riding rides geared for their ages (the theme park is mainly for kids ages 2-12 like the hotel).
Check out that poor kid in front of our kids!
Let me zoom in for you….
And LEGOLAND® Florida has added new attractions since we were there at their opening in 2012. The boys were excited to try the get-you-totally-soaked water ride at The LEGO® World of Chima!
And my sister-in-law geeked out just a bit at the new Star Wars® exhibits in the Miniland USA area!
Also, behind this wall coming later this summer, is a whole new Friends area! My daughter is seriously praying to Jesus we can go back and see it once it’s open!
And, for the first time, we got to check out the LEGOLAND® Waterpark.
My favorite part? Having the whole wave pool practically to ourselves!
AND the totally awesome lazy river where you can build with floating LEGO® bricks on your inner tube!
We had a great time!
One final note about the amazing new hotel (I seriously can’t rave about it enough to do it justice), the kids absolutely LOVED waking up to find a LEGOLAND® newspaper outside their door instead of a newspaper for adults!
My son read it off and on the whole plane trip home!
Then my other kids loved it and read it over and over again once we were home!
What a nice touch for a hotel that is truly all about kids!
My 12-year-old gave it two hearty thumbs up!
When I asked him what his absolute favorite thing was about the hotel he said, “Mom, I can’t pick one!”
