Since we’ve been in Texas, we’ve been having lots of fun!
The kids have been doing crafts with Mimi.
We’ve been visiting with sweet relatives.
Who have fun toys.
We’ve been visiting old historic sites as I continue my mission to indoctrinate my children in all things Texas and take them to places I went to on field trips as a kid.
We had a family reunion.
Where a mean game of dominoes and speed scrabble was played.
We’ve been sampling lots of good Texas food. THIS was amazing!
We’ve been thoroughly enjoying the warm weather.
And taking in the country side of East Texas.
My mom’s been teaching my daughter piano lessons.
And we’ve eaten some yummy Tex-Mex. Oh! And speaking of that, let me show you what makes Mexican restaurants in Texas superior to those elsewhere in the country.
It’s a sopapilla.
But here’s the superior difference… it’s COMPLIMENTARY! Oh yes, my lazy people, sopapillas are delivered to your seat all warm and puffy after your meal in most every Mexican restaurant in Texas.
And let me show you what you do with them. You poke a hole in the middle of it.
Then pour in some butter and honey.
So if you ever stop in at a Mexican restaurant in Texas and see squeezable butter and honey sitting on your table…
Be sure and save room for that complimentary sopapilla!
OH! And save room for the complimentary ice cream machine on the way out, too!
Oh, yes. You heard me right! Another superior difference at Mexican restaurants in Texas is free ice cream as you walk out the door.
(Okay, maybe other states’ Mexican restaurants do this to? Someone tell me if that is the case.)
All I know is that this kid was happy with is creation.
And this one sorta was.
